THE WEEK IN REVIEWS – 7/4/2009

Here are a few product reviews posted this week from other blogs wrapped in an HTML shell and served with immature writing.

Sixteen beers and ten sake reviews in one evening? May God have mercy on their livers. (via TBQ)

Fried ice cream that’s not fried. There’s an F-word I would use to describe that and it’s not fried. (via I Ate A Pie)

Apple and banana ketchup is popular in the Philippines; apple and banana mush is popular with babies; and apple and banana martinis are popular with sorority girls. (via A.V. Club)

The only thing I think the BK BBQ Double Stackticon can transform is my beating heart into a non-beating heart. (via We Rate Stuff)

There’s a white powder energy drink mix called Blow. I’m waiting for a black energy liquid-filled syringe called Black Tar Heroin. (via Possessed by Caffeine)

  1. Also, have the A.V. Club guys ever actually eaten tomato ketchup? They describe it using some… interesting… adjectives: “…very slightly lumpy, irregular consistency… the sugary, grainy sweetness…”. I have never had ketchup that was lumpy or grainy…

  2. You know, I’m a sorority girl and I do love apple martinis. And strawberry ones. And lemon drops. I’ve never had a banana martini though.

And I always feel like a horrible person because all fast food burgers with excessive cheese and bacon look delicious to me. Luckily I’m too cheap to ever buy any of them, so my death will be slightly slower as I buy the $1.50 double cheeseburger instead of the triple cheese and quadruple bacon burger.

  3. My Filipino roommate told me about that banana answer to ketchup and I think they’re really missing the mark over there (she also had a bottle of it for me to try). I pass on banana “ketchup”!

  4. @brad: I guess that would be good for executive and wall streeters, when they’re not fucking up our economy.

@Natalie: But it has vegetable!!! That’s gotta negate something bad about the burger. :)

@orb205: I say pass on pants.
