NEWS: IHOP at HOME Lets Me Enjoy IHOP Without Having To Put On Pants

IHOP

One of my dreams in life is to invite one person from every ethnicity I can find to a party at IHOP. Because if I’m able to make my dream come true, it will be the only time an IHOP restaurant would truly be considered international. But if I’m not able to make that happen because of IHOP being upset at the previous sentence, then I guess I’m going to have to settle for inviting one person from every ethnicity, preparing a bunch of the new IHOP at HOME frozen breakfast meals, and serving them to my melting pot of guests outside of an IHOP restaurant.

According to the press release I received, IHOP is the first national restaurant brand to bring breakfast items to the freezer shelves. So suck it, Denny!

The new IHOP at HOME line are now available at more than 3,000 Walmart locations throughout the United States. So suck it, Canada!

IHOP at HOME frozen dishes won’t be available at IHOP restaurants. So suck it, IHOP restaurants!

They can be prepared either in the microwave or conventional ovens. So suck it, barbeque grills and stove tops!

The IHOP at HOME lineup consists of:

Omelet Crispers: scrambled eggs, potatoes and a choice of cheddar cheese, cheddar cheese and sausage, or cheddar cheese and bacon in a crispy coating. They come in boxes of four and have anywhere from 210-240 calories, 12-14 grams of fat, 4-4.5 grams of saturated fat, 560-930 milligrams of sodium, and 8-11 grams of protein.

French Toast Stuffed Pastries: French toast pastries filled with either strawberry, sweet cream cheese, apple and cinnamon, or strawberry cream cheese filling. They are packaged in boxes of six and have anywhere from 170-210 calories, 6-9 grams of fat, 1-3.5 grams of saturated fat, 240-270 milligrams of sodium, and 3-4 grams of protein.

Griddle n’ Sausage Wrap: a breakfast sausage covered in buttermilk pancake batter with a hint of maple syrup. Comes in boxes of eight and have 160 calories, 11 grams of fat, 3.5 grams of saturated fat, 220 milligrams of sodium, and 4 grams of protein.

  1. Putting nutritional information into an IHOP review is silly… like putting a warning label on porn… you’re gonna eat it anyway.

  2. The first? Bob Evans has had shit on store shelves as long as I can remember.

  3. TRIED THE Omelet Crispers HORRABLE JUST DISCUSTING NOTHING LIKE THE RESTRENT AT ALL TASTE LIKE GREASED BANANAS WITH SINTHETIC CHEASE AND WAX HORRABLE

  4. Omelet Crispers ARE AWFUL, TASTE LIKE GREASE AND WAX THATS EXACTLY WHAT THEY TASTE LIKE!

  5. These frozen items are the absolute worst thing I have ever put into my mouth… None of it tastes good (and I tried most of them). I had to buy strawberry cream cheese to add to the Strawberry cream cheese french toasts things, as they were almost tasteless. The omelet crispers are anything but crisp. They actually fell apart after cooking… I can’t imagine this crap will stay on the market, very long, but people do have a penchant for liking crap.

  6. I, along with many others, bought this product in hopes of bringing the wonderful taste of IHOP into my home. And boy oh boy, were these disgusting. I cooked it according to package instructions, and it came out a soggy, limp, pile of mush. I took one bite and was instantly disgusted, so I spit it out onto the plate, and gave the whole thing to my dog, becuase he’ll eat ANYTHING he sees me eating. It’s amazing that the marketing research team didn’t do field studies of this product to see how the public would react BEFORE making such a huge mistake. I will always love going to IHOP for a fresh stack of their wonderful pancakes, but they definitely need to get out of the frozen food market.

  7. Bought the french toast with strawberry filing. It was horrible. They say these are stuffed but there is only a drizzle of strawberry inside.

  8. I had high hopes for a product from a quality name like IHOP…I was wrong! Horribly disappointed!

Bought both flavors of the omelet crispers (I like bacon, my husband likes sausage)…most disgusting things I’ve ever seen come out of a microwave…came out of microwave, soggy, surrounded by a puddle of grease, way too salty, and I was hard pressed to find any evidence of egg, bacon or cheese in mine…same for my husband with the sausage ones.

Threw out both packages after just tasting a couple bites!

Did they even bother to taste test these??? Doesn’t seem like they did, otherwise they wouldn’t have bothered to put them on supermarket shelves.
