The KFC Famous Bowl is one of the unhealthiest items to eat on KFC’s menu, but I have to admit the combination of mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, popcorn chicken, and shredded cheese is also one of the tastiest items to eat on KFC’s menu.
I thought there was no way to improve it, but I forgot about the power of bacon and its claim that it makes everything better. Although, while bacon has made burgers and asparagus better, it’s also been shown it doesn’t make everything better, like soda.
Well, KFC is taking that power and adding it to their KFC Famous Bowl to create the Cheesy Bacon Bowl. All the goodness of a KFC Famous Bowl, sprinkled with chopped bacon, and all for just $3.99 at participating restaurants.

Oh My God. This has got to be one of the most amazing things I’ve ever eaten. We saw the commercial the other night and laughed at how bad it is for you, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I happened to check in here and there it was, so I took it as a sign, broke down and went to my KFC drive-thru and bought one this evening. I took it home and divided it up into four portions and used it as a side dish for our family dinner, hoping to cut the deadliness of eating it all myself and everyone loved it. It is amazing – comforting and crunchy and creamy, with cheesy meltiness, popcorny chicken and lots of awesome bacon. I could have scarfed down the whole thing in the car, but I was strong and now my family each got a taste of something ultra-yummy that they will never have again. It’s a shame it’s so bad for you – it’s something I can see wanting over and over, and I love stuff that comes all mixed together in a bowl. Go get it – try it at least once, because after all, how many times do you live? Then use the bowl and make yourself a nice salad. :)
