SPOTTED ON SHELVES – 5/23/2014

Here are some interesting new and limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers. If you’ve tried any of the products, share your thoughts about them in the comments.

Ghirardelli Minis

“Share a square”? That means I have to interact with people. Candy Crush isn’t going to play by itself. (Spotted by Lindsay at Meijer.)

York Unwrapped Minis

With a bag of York Peppermint Patty Minis, I get the sensation that I might’ve eaten too many York Peppermint Patty Minis because there are no wrappers to give me pause. (Spotted by Lindsay at Meijer.)

Good Seasons Balsamic and Greek Salad Dressing Mix

I make it fresh! I make it fresh! Nah! I’d rather not make it fresh, but make it quick, and just buy a bottle of salad dressing. (Spotted by Charmi at Foodland.)

Dole Kale Caesar Salad Kit

Hail kale! (Spotted by Sylvia at Ralphs.)

  1. If you look closely on the fresh seasons dressing mix it says “just add balsamic, oil, and water”. What is the moral of the mix saying balsamic since you have to add the actual stuff.

    1. This is a tricky thing that packaged mixes do, and it annoys. There’s some chi-chi brand of baking mixes that has “pumpkin scones” and “apple scones” and such, but a close read of the instructions determines that the baker has to add the pumpkin or the apple.

On salad dressing, once I’ve committed to mixing the oil and vinegar, I might as well just sprinkle Italian seasoning and call it done.

  2. Ok, I don’t get the Ghirardelli Minis. Are they just smaller than the squares but more of them in the bag which still makes you want to finish it one go?
