SPOTTED ON SHELVES – 7/3/2014

Here are some interesting new and limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers. If you’ve tried any of the products, share your thoughts about them in the comments.

Market Pantry Cinema Snack Ice Cream

I’m a little hesitant about the “popcorn flavored ice cream,” but not hesitant at all about the fudge-covered potato chips. (Spotted by Andy at SuperTarget.)

Betty Crocker Donut Cookies Cookie Mix and Glazed Donut Frosting

Donut Cookies? Betty Crocker should take a page out of the portmanteau playbook and call them Dookies. Oh wait. (Spotted by Melissa at Kroger.)

Blue Bunny Cadbury Caramello Bars

The Blue Bunny website says this is a new product, so I will believe them. But I’ve never seen a blue bunny before, so should I really trust them. (Spotted by L at Mariano’s.)

Wegmans Nutter Batter Ice Cream

Is Wegmans Nutter Batter going to be a grand slam? Or is it going to be a hard grounder hit by a slow runner to the third baseman with no outs and men on first and second, perhaps causing a triple play. (Spotted by Maria at Wegmans.)

  1. My wife bought the “Cinema Snack” ice cream a few days ago. It’s funny, I had just eaten some actual popcorn right before she got home. I had to dive in. It takes a few seconds for the popcorn flavor to hit you, tastes very similar to a popcorn flavored jelly bean. The pretzels taste exactly as you’d expect. You can’t really taste the potato chips because this ice cream is, well, super salty. And I mean SUPER salty. So, if you like salt, this is for you.
