QUICK REVIEW: Fiber One Chocolate Chunk Soft-Baked Cookies

Fiber One Chocolate Chunk Soft-Baked Cookies

Purchased Price: $3.00 (on sale)
Size: 6 cookies
Purchased at: Safeway
Rating: 7 out of 10
Pros: Tastes mostly like a grocery store bakery chocolate chip cookie. Not a bad way to get 20% of your daily fiber. The 3-inch cookie was soft and chewy. Turning junk food into a vessel for fiber. I could eat five Chips Ahoy cookies and get the same amount of fiber.
Cons: It has the same weird aftertaste that most Fiber One products have. No nutritional benefits beyond the fiber. Possible side effects from eating more than one in a sitting. Still waiting for Fiber One Potato Chips. I could eat five Chips Ahoy cookies and get the same amount of fiber.

  1. The fiber comes from sawdust, cheaper to make your own sawdust and eat a spoonful with your cookies.

    1. Actually it comes from chickory root extract and soluble corn fiber. Cellulose (“saw dust”) isn’t in the Fiber One cookies, but you will find it in pre-shreaded cheese and other products, and it does indeed add fiber!

      1. And loads of people get big time intestinal problems with chicory root extract (inulin) which is showing up everywhere so they can slap a high-fiber label on it. I wish I just got extra gas emissions (google fiber one makes me fart for a huge list of tales). Instead, I get trapped gas that lasts for several very painful days. The manufacturer claims people just are ‘t used to fiber or don’t drink enough water. I’m used to plenty of fiber and drink plenty of water. It’s the chickory root that’s causing problems for many. Just eat enough fruit and veg and you’ll get plenty of real fiber. A small cookie has no business having 5 grams of fiber. Ain’t natural.

  2. This is the best tasting chocolate chip cookie I have ever tasted! Having trouble finding where to buy them.
