FAST FOOD NEWS: Arby’s Smokehouse Turkey and Garlic Parmesan Housemade Chips

Arby s Smokehouse Turkey

When Arby’s introduced their Smokehouse Brisket in 2013, they made it a point to let us know they smoked the brisket for 13 hours. The turkey in their new Smokehouse Turkey is smoked for eight hours over mesquite wood in a Texas smokehouse.

The sandwich also features an artisan-style roll, crispy onion strings, a white BBQ sauce, and smoked cheddar cheese. Arby’s doesn’t mention how long the cheese was smoked for. Oh, if you’re wondering what white BBQ sauce is, here are the ingredients: Soybean oil, Water, Apple Cider Vinegar, Horseradish, Egg Yolks, Sugar, Lemon Juice Concentrate, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Salt, Distilled Vinegar, Spices, Xanthan Gum, Mustard Flour, Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate (preservatives), Natural Smoke Flavor, Guar Gum, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Calcium Disodium

The Smokehouse Turkey has 560 calories, 28 grams of fat, 10 grams of saturated fat, 0.5 grams of trans fat, 75 milligrams of cholesterol, 1430 milligrams of sodium, 44 grams of carbohydrates, 6 grams of sugar, 2 grams of fiber, and 36 grams of protein.

  1. Is this a flavored mayonnaise like product ??
Appears to have too much water and vinegar to qualify to government standard for mayonnaise.

“Mayonnaise contains not less than 65 percent by weight of vegetable oil.”

  2. I tried these last night because that turkey sandwich glamour shot was too, too delectable.

It’s a pleasantly gooshy way to consume turkey, and I’m somewhat of a fan of white BBQ sauce, so there’s that. The turkey was in thick slices and looked like real turkey (which it’s supposed to be, but so is lots of pressed turkey loaf).

The chips were okaaaaayyyy — weirdly sweet, not really my favorite kettle chips. I would not do the chips again, might do the sandwich if I’m at an Arby’s during the LTO period.
