FAST FOOD NEWS: Burger King A1 Hearty Mozzarella Bacon Cheeseburger

Burger King A1 Hearty Mozzarella Bacon Cheeseburger

Burger King’s latest burger is the A1 Hearty Mozzarella Bacon Cheeseburger, which should not be confused with the older Burger King’s A1 Ultimate Cheeseburger.

The newer A1 burger features two 1/4 lb. flame-grilled beef patties, thick-cut smoked bacon, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, onions, and A1 Thick & Hearty sauce on a toasted brioche-style bun. The older A1 burger features American cheese instead of mozzarella and doesn’t come with lettuce.

The A1 Hearty Mozzarella Bacon Cheeseburger has 790 calories, 430 calories from fat, 48 grams of fat, 21 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat (not sure how that’s possible if every burger, except a basic hamburger, has at least 0.5 grams of trans fat), 190 milligrams of cholesterol, 1370 milligrams of sodium, 37 grams of carbohydrates, 1 gram of fiber, 9 grams of sugar, and 52 grams of protein.

  1. Sounds decent, but why would anyone want to put mozzarella on a burger? It provides very little taste.

And has BK always had 1/4 pound patties? That seems new to me.

    1. I like putting mozzarella on my burger. I allow it to melt and become slightly golden brown almost borderline the point that it would be burning. Gooey delicious.

    2. A1 has a pretty strong flavor. I bet the neutral taste of the mozzarella balances that out.

    3. Much prefer mozzarella over white/yellow american. And if you think that mozzarella doesn’t ‘have any taste’ you’re eating the wrong brand of mozzarella!

  2. So sick of this ‘brioche style bun’ craze at fast food restaurants. All it means is they have a bun that they can let get stale and pretend it’s meant to be that way. Or at least that’s how they implement it.

  3. Again with the laziness. Just slapping a “new cheese” on it. Come on BK make something new!!!

    1. When you consider how many factors make this different than the Whopper (their comfort zone) I actually think this is a big step forward. Different bun, A1, Mozzarella, Bacon. I mean, it’s still gotta be a burger… how creative do you want them to get? Jicama chips? Fried ocra? No, this gives me a little bit of hope for BK. I don’t think there’s anything else on the menu I’d rather order.

      1. Well said. If you want ultimate customization make your own damn burger. These guys still have to keep their supply chain in mind.

  4. not sure y plp dont see the actual prob and what can make it great… the thin and thik patie is just wrong. jeesh since when will bk learn to put an actual thik patttie… the sodium and calories r a lil off……. customize.. how about this thing with just the thik pattie..il take swisss and then put tapatio.. many plp dont even consider that to actual customize u can just go home and put w e u want.. how about more cheese or hot suace? custom doest end in bk.. idfiots

    1. Really? You’re calling people ‘idiots’, and you can barely spell? That’s rich! lol….

  5. This was nothing special at all. the A1 sauce overpowered every other flavor that I should have tasted in this burger. Bacon normally has a pretty hearty flavor. I couldn’t taste it AT ALL, nor the hamburger itself or the cheese. Just A1 sauce. Not worth the $$ at all.

  6. I paid the extra $ because I was hoping for better quality than the standard burger. The meat was dry with that crappy horsemeat-y taste and there was no lettuce. The bacon was crunchy but tasteless. Seriously, the only thing that distinguished the A1 mozzarella bacon cheeseburger from a BAD value meal burger was the mozzarella. And the price, of course.
