FAST FOOD NEWS: Taco Bell Dare Devil Loaded Grillers

Taco Bell Dare Devil Loaded Grillers

Update: We reviewed it! Click here to read our review of all three.

Taco Bell’s newest menu additions are the Dare Devil Loaded Grillers.

All three come with a warm flour tortilla filled with seasoned beef, nacho cheese, crispy red strips, and your choice of mild chipotle sauce, hot habanero sauce, or fiery ghost pepper sauce. But let’s face it, the Loaded Grillers with habanero and ghost pepper sauces are the only exciting ones worthy of the name Dare Devil.

The mild one has 420 calories, 22 grams of fat, 5 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 30 milligrams of cholesterol, 940 milligrams of sodium, 43 grams of carbohydrates, and 12 grams of protein.

The medium one has 380 calories, 18 grams of fat, 5 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 25 milligrams of cholesterol, 900 milligrams of sodium, 44 grams of carbohydrates, and 12 grams of protein.

And the hot one has 400 calories, 20 grams of fat, 5 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 25 milligrams of cholesterol, 970 milligrams of sodium, 44 grams of carbohydrates, and 11 grams of protein.

You’ve probably noticed that this doesn’t quite match up with the Mild, Hot, and Fiery descriptions, but that’s how they were listed in the nutrition facts sections of Taco Bell’s website.

If you’ve tried any of them, let us know if they caused you to sweat in the comments.

  1. I tried them a few months ago when they were test marketed and I liked them a lot – unfortunately, I can’t remember if I had the hot or the fiery. But it was legitimately hot – especially for a fast food restaurant. It was also a very good value at $1 although I think they jacked the price up to maybe $1.49 or $1.99 after a time – I guess to compare sales.

  2. I just ate the Fiery today. For me, it was hot enough to make me eat it slowly as I put it down to chug my Pepsi, but didn’t make me sweat. Though I do eat a reasonable amount of hot food, so it might make those that are not as immune sweat.

  3. I forgot to mention how delicious it was. Their stuffed burritos are among my favorite menu items.

  4. Thank you Taco Bell for giving us chileheads something to finally get happy about. I ate the fiery ghost pepper one. For me it was very good it could be even hotter. But the taste was awesome I think this is a great beginning for your company to open up a whole new market. This is definitely worth being an anchor item. SEP.

  5. I’ve had the Habanero and Ghost Pepper ones. The Hab is pretty tasty. It the flavors blend well and it has a little bit of sweetness to it. has decent heat that you get right away, but I still added a packet of Hot sauce to it.

The Ghost Pepper one is the hottest thing TB has ever put out imo. After the first bite, I was disappointed because it tasted like a plain beef griller. I took another bite and was about to add some sauce when the heat turned on and just kept building. Pretty soon all it was just all heat and I actually started to break a sweat. That’s never happened to me with any of TB’s food so that was a pleasant surprise.

Overall, I think I prefer the Habanero because I like the balance of the heat and still being able to taste the other ingredients. But Ghost Pepper is definitely a solid choice. I’ll be going back for more as long as they have them.

  6. Just ate the fiery one about three minutes ago. The back of my throat is tingling still, but I wouldn’t say it is ghost pepper worthy. I have had ghost pepper cheese and that was much more spicy. Definitely give it a thumbs up for spicy and attempted heat! If you like spicy I would have to say that the fiery ghost pepper is the hottest item on their menu

  7. Was super excited to try the Ghost chili griller. I make my own ghost sauce every year. That said, I was disappointed by this item. Ghost chili is a test, not just something that makes you sweat a little. I ate 3 in under 10 minutes without a problem at all. A small amount of sweating, but not the mouth numbing that a real ghost sauce causes. I guess I am not really surprised that a national chain would be scared to introduce a product that truly has ghost chili potency. Wouldn’t want to open themselves up to potential law suits by dummies that will try to get free money any way they can.
