  1. Why Duncan Hines have to say “includes a pouch of real dried cranberries”. Are cranberries real? Come on!

    1. It could be to differentiate them from foods that have fake fruit bits (like commercial blueberry muffins, or this Lindt bar with lychee pieces (ingredients: sugar, lychee juice, apple, dextrose, pineapple fibers, sodium alginate, dicalcium phosphate, natural flavor, citric acid, color added). You know, when fruit is involved but not completely dedicated to the cause.

Duncan Hines wants us to know that those cranberries are *dedicated* to that bar mix. Note that they say nothing about the orange component. Flaunt what you have, I guess. Marketing!

  2. Tried the pumpkin cheesecakes Yoplait Greek whips. I really enjoyed it. I thought the flavored were well balanced and not overpowering. The texture was marshmallow-y. The best Greek whips that Yoplait has had, in my opinion. Would love to see a review of it on here?

    1. I cannot wait to try the Yoplait Greek Pumpkin Cheesecake Whips!

For Christmas they better have an Egg Nog flavor or a Peppermint Bark flavor.

  3. I sent pics of the cranberry bar and two similar items a couple weeks ago but haven’t tried em yet.

I MUSTY find those whips as most pumpkin yogurt is high cal, although our area never gets the limited whips.

    1. The highest I’ve seen is the Pumpkin Noosa around 290 calories that’s sold at Target.

Chobani has one for around 130 calories, but it tastes awful.

  4. Does anyone actually plan to hand out those bags of garden veggie chips to trick-or-treaters? That’s like asking to have your house egged.

  5. I was scared to try Coles Biscuit and Gravy bites, as I’ve been unimpressed with other products of theirs in the past. But they were interesting and I love biscuits and gravy so I bought them. I cooked mine in the oven because the worst thing you can do if you have already low expectation for a food, is toss them in the microwave. I was pleasantly surprised by these. They’re not fantastic. But, the biscuit is a real biscuit which is more than I expected. For some reason, I expected the gravy to have sausage in it. It didn’t. But it wasn’t as bland as I imagined it would be. It was seasoned well with pepper. While these were not terrible, and actually pretty decent, I find it hard to eat these as a quick, stand alone breakfast. There seems to be something missing.

    1. thanks for reporting! I was curious but the photo sure looks unpromising texturally and also in terms of biscuit to gravy ratio. Has anyone encountered any (more traditional) frozen renditions that are particularly well done?

    2. Tried them today, pleasantly surprised. The dough actually smells and tastes somewhat like flour, like a biscuit should! Not the most flavorful thing I’ve ever had, but definitely not bland. Nice snack in the afternoon or a fast side for a full breakfast.
