FAST FOOD NEWS: Wendy’s Summer Berry Chicken Salad

Wendy s Summer Berry Chicken Salad

Another summer. Another Wendy’s salad with berries and chicken.

In 2011, the fast food chain rolled out the Berry Almond Chicken Salad with strawberries and blueberries. In 2014, just strawberries were showcased in the Strawberry Fields Chicken Salad. This summer, Wendy’s is rolling out the Summer Berry Chicken Salad that features fresh strawberries and blackberries.

Besides the berries, the salad also contains fresh-cut lettuce, feta cheese, crunchy red apple chips, grilled chicken breast, and a light blackberry vinaigrette. The new salad goes for $6.79 for a full sized entrée or $4.79 for a half-sized salad. Prices will vary. It’s available at participating locations for a limited time.

  1. Oooo, this sounds good! I loved the berry almond salad, and was heartbroken to see that it’d been replaced with the strawberry fields salad a couple years back, because while I like red onion, I HATE it with fruit in a salad.

Doesn’t seem as though these are available in Cananda, though…I still haven’t forgiven Wendy’s Canada for getting rid of the Asian chicken salad.

  2. Very good had the half and wished id gotten the whole I love blackberries and the ones in this salad are exceptional the apple crisp provided a crunch and chicken was delicious Im tempted to duplicate this at home homemade is always better

  3. Bought your Summer Berry Chicken salad – half size for me, and whole for husband. Neither had a single blackberry, and when I saw the paucity of strawberries, I put the thin slices together in the half size, They equaled a little over half a berry. Am not usually disappointed by Wendy’s salads, but these were not as advertised. Purchase was made at Wendy’s Rainbow City, AL drive-through location on Rainbow Drive at around 730 p.m., although the receipt says 8:44:05 PM, today, 7/13.

  4. Now things are REALLY looking weird. My receipt says I paid $17.00 cash and got .48 change. I paid $16.52 with a credit card. This has been confirmed with the credit card company!

  5. Wendy’s has the best salads! I’m not a huge fast food person, but I will get a salad from Wendy’s and I’ve never been disappointed. This new salad is amazing! I didn’t think they could top the Summer Fields salad. My lettuce was crispy and my fruit was fresh. I only had two blackberries and since it is blackberry season I wish there would have been more.

  6. I love the idea of the salad. I definitely love the dressing. But I hate the fact that I paid $7.00 for a bowl of lettuce. Where are the berries?? I had 2 blackberries and possibly one strawberry. C’mon Wendy’s..you can do better.

  7. For $7.00 Very disappointed…and i usually love Wendy’s salads. Very scarce on the berries. No apple crisps. And I only got one dressing for a full-size ( usually 2 dressings with a full-size). So in all, I got dry greens with feta and a few thin slices of strawberry. Terrible.

  8. I got the full salad today and it was delicious! I had a great variety of the greens which was proportioned nicely with a salad to feta cheese to berry ratio. The real stand out for me is that blackberry viniargaratte and the apple chips for crunch. I will be having it again!

  9. The Wendy’s Summer Berry Salad is absolutely my favorite all time salads! I’m currently trying to find the Blackberry Vinaigrette and the crunchy, crispy Dried Apple topping. I make a home version of the salad at home with bagged romaine lettuce, feta cheese, blackberries, strawberries, and sometimes I add blueberries and raspberries. The dressing I use is Marie’s Raspberry Vinaigrette LITE. I’ve found no similar dried apply topping. I’m thinking maybe dried banana…IDK. Sometimes I add grilled chicken and sometimes I don’t. When I’m out, need lunch or dinner, I always head for Wendy’s to buy the Summer Berry Salad.

  10. Wendy’s has my favorite fast food salads. This Summery Berry Salad is great. They (Wendy’s) are almost on par with the more expensive ones at places like Panera, La Bou, Bella Bru…etc. The chicken is much better than say Jack in the Box (IMHO) and I have yet to have a salad without lots of berries and quality lettuce (mixed lettuce… only a little romaine and no iceberg). Everyone has their preferences for how much feta/fruit/lettuce combo but this salad seems pretty well balanced at least where I buy it in Sacramento California. Once they ran out of the apple chips. The salad was still good.

  11. Wendy’s salads are amazing, when made properly. They need to spend the time teaching everyone there what actually goes into the salad. I hope the bring the Summer Berry salad back next year. Delicious and worth a try!!

  12. Love this salad. I get it with shredded cheddar rather than the feta and it is SO delicious. Always get a nice mix of greens and just enough of the fruit. The apple chips add a nice crunch and the blackberry dressing is fantastic. Love, love, love it!

  13. Love this salad. I get it with shredded cheddar rather than the feta and it is SO delicious. Always get a nice mix of greens and just enough of the fruit. The apple chips add a nice crunch and the blackberry dressing is fantastic. Love, love, love it!

  14. I normally love Wendy’s salads, but I must say I am disappointed in the berry salad. Although the salad itself was delicious and the chicken good, your advertising indicates more than 1 blackberry and 1 strawberry on the half size. For $4.79 thought there could have been a bit more fruit. Love the apple chips with it and the dressing is delicious. Possibly an oversight by the preparation staff. I’m still a long time fan of Wendy’s, but just wanted to voice my disappointment. Thank you.
