  1. Ok I’ll bite lol. I’ll say Lemon Ricotta = yes, Vanilla Chai = maybe and Apple Rosemary = NO lol

    1. I love the lemon ricotta. I hope they offer a box with just that flavor. The other two were unappealing.

  2. I would’ve ranked them exactly like the above comment. Never been a fan of Chai tea so Vanilla Chai sounded kinda meh and Apple Cheddar Rosemary just sounded gross for an oatmeal flavor. Figured I’d try them in reverse order of what I thought I would like and have been pleasantly surprised so far. Apple Cheddar Rosemary was weird but not bad at all. Vanilla Chai was really tasty. Trying Lemon Ricotta tomorrow so I’m hoping it’ll be even better than I was thinking it might be

  3. I want to try apple cheddar rosemary the most. It will most likely be horrible but it sounds like the most fun. .

  4. I have bias towards anything lemon, so that easily won for me. Vanilla Chai actually has the fewest number of ingredients by a country mile and is also quite tasty – the little spice with the vanilla is nice. The Apple Cheddar Rosemary is so weird that it actually kind of works. A home run of a promotion overall IMHO.

  5. I read the story behind the origin if the cheddar apple and rosemary idea…and to be honest? Sure… Why Exactly shouldn’t a flat bread idea don’t work with soats aka savory oatmeal or with any style of bread or waffle?
I mean soats with cheese in it already exist and they are pretty, good if you don’t expect something sweet here.

Long story short, I liked the idea and tried it immediately at home. I used apple juice for water tobsoak and cook the oats (though a slighty more bitter apple tea would have probably been the better choice), cooked the oats, added the rosemary and used sharped Gouda instead of cheddar (since it is easier to get Gouda here) and made the soats creamy.
In my opinion it worked pretty well and the Rosemary and the cheddar were a great combination with the oats and the apple.

    Try it!

  6. I couldn’t get past the smell of the Apple Cheddar Rosemary. The Chai was eh-ok for me. The Lemon Ricotta Pancake is by far my very favorite. I bought a 2nd box, threw all the rosemary ones away and ate all the lemon ones!

  7. i’ve tried all 3. i would rank them LemonRP, Chai, AppleCR.

the lemon ricotta came through nicely and didn’t over power the oatmeal itself but i couldn’t taste much “pancake.” i was able to eat the whole pack which is more than i can say for the other two. do note, i’m not a chai fan. its ok, but not my preferred flavor. there was good chai spice to the oatmeal one, but the vanilla hid behind the spice. i did feel like there was a weird texture, slimely-like almost. rethinking, all 3 had that slimey quality, but the chai’s was the most prevalent. Lastly, the Apple cheddar rosemary. surprisingly good apple cheddar but the rosemary was too much. thats all i could smell/taste for a while. the more bites i took the apple and cheddar peaked out but the rosemary was way too much. kind of a bummer.

  8. I kept seeing the boxes and finally decided to give it a try. I too am a lemon flavor lover, so the Lemon Ricotta was okay but nothing I have to have again. The Vanilla Chai had a interesting flavor that I could tolerate but it mostly made me feel like I was eating something healthy. The Apple Cheddar Rosemary was disgusting, I kept wondering what the spongy stuff was and I guess it was the apple. I see no reason for combining these three ingredients with oatmeal. Overall, I would prefer a refund and a chance to purchase something I like and would eat.

  9. Such a challenge. We tried the apple rosemary first as it seemed the oddest. And odd it was. I burped rosemary half the day. And, while I would have loved apple cheddar, I really did not like the rosemary. Maybe had there been a LOT less of it,…I put in chopped McIntosh apples because I knew the quantity of apples would be thin. Still too much rosemary. So, I put my mind into how I could incorporate this cereal into some kind of savory dish where it would work. Tonight: Apple, cheddar, rosemary meat loaf. I thought that the oatmeal would work as a binder just like bread crumbs. Evidence showed otherwise. I could not slice it. It crumbled. However, the flavor worked better than in morning cereal. I could actually open the oven door while it baked and smell the apple, cheddar, ROSEMARY flavoring. My next project will be using it instead of flour in potatoes au gratin (adding lots of extra sharp white cheddar.

My husband will eat the apple, etc cereal as he liked it well enough. Apparently I have grandkids who will also so I don’t have to dump it. But it is not for me.

This morning we tucked away the Lemon Ricotta Pancake. Not sure why pancake added anything to the name or product. However, we both liked it. To be honest, it had sort of a fake lemon taste so I think Quaker could sell it but work on making it taste more natural. Tomorrow, Chai Vanilla. I suspect it will be delicious and perfect with added pecans.

These boxes are available in the Sacramento area for a buck at the 99 Cent Store. Poor Quaker has a dud on its hands. I am betting that the driver to destruction was the Apple Cheddar Rosemary. Too weird for most people. At my store, people I talked to about it were grossed out at the thought. Take out the rosemary, Quaker!

  10. I think they were all horrible! I am a oatmeal fanatic so when I was shopping at Walley world and saw this for 50 cents I thought I’d give it a try can’t be that bad after all it’s oameal! I thought I would like the vanilla chai and wasn’t too sure about the other two but I just tried all three and I can’t stop thinking this was some kind of joke! Really Quaker? Well congrats on whoever wins the prize money! I am sure that something like cherry cheese blintz or apple fritter doughnut maybe a cinnamon egg crepe or even a maple peanut butter pancake flavor would have been a lot tastier!

  11. AND THE WINNER IS? Apple Cheddar Rosemary. Congratulations Karen DeVincent, PR Manager at Toast, Inc., Boston, MA. In December 2015 I entered 50 flavors and the inspiration behind each one. Quaker chose my Lemon Ricotta Pancake entry and I thought they did a great job with the flavor. My family loved it. Being chosen out of over 500,000 entries as 1 of 3 finalists is pretty major. I knew Lemon Ricotta Pancake would be a tough sell as soon as I heard it was chosen. It immediately sounded strange to so many people and lemon is an acquired taste. Frankly, I wondered why Quaker hadn’t chosen my entry of Sweet Potato Tiramisu, Toasted Almond French Toast, Tropical Key Lime & Coconut, Sweet Potato Gingerbread, Eggnog Gingersnap Streusel, Salted Caramel Maple, Butterscotch Cheesecake, Graham Cracker Apple Crisp or Peach Blueberry Basil Crisp to name a few. But then there would never have been a Lemon Ricotta Momma. Everything happens for a reason. Thanks to Quaker and everyone who voted.
