NEWS: New Wheat Thins Variety Adds Cheese and Polygon Vertices

I’m not a connoisseur of cheeses, except for Kraft American slices and Velveeta, so I don’t know if I should be impressed with the Wheat Thins Artisan Cheese Crackers that have either Vermont White Cheddar or Wisconsin Colby cheese baked into it. I’m going to assume that the Wisconsin Colby cheese version will be good because if I’ve learned anything from watching Green Bay Packers games, it’s that Wisconsin knows how to make cheese. Or they’re really good at making cheese hats.

These crackers also come in a hexagon shape, instead of the usual Wheat Thins tetragon, which I think was a mistake. They should’ve gone with an octagon to jump on the chiseled, sweaty and bloody back of mixed martial arts.

The Vermont White Cheddar version has 140 calories, 5 grams of fat, 1 grams of saturated fat, 0 gram of trans fat, 230 milligrams of sodium, 21 grams of carbs and 1 gram of fiber per 12 cracker serving. 1. Whatever happened to just a square shaped cheese cracker, did these people think they where special, unique, entitled to attention?!

I’m sure the cheese adds a dimesnsion of flavor and quality…but stilll

    They lack discipline!

  2. @kraft employ: Your words of hate will not stop me from trying them. because I’ll stick almost anything into my mouth.

@Villian was born into this…: They lack discipline!

  3. So it seems like these would be almost a snobby type of cracker. Maybe have them with some box wine? lol

  4. I tried the white vermont. I live in WI so it seemed lame to go for the homeland flavor. I don’t know anything about white cheddar, except the ingredients didn’t list it. I remember thinking they were just okay but not being able to stop eating them for some reason. Oddly I don’t think I will get them again. I have $1 off coupon so I’ll probably try the WI colby and be similarly baffled.

  5. @amanda: No, I think these would go great with canned wine.

@Jeanette: Maybe it’s your tongue telling you to move to Vermont. I hope you don’t have Green Bay Packers tickets.

@TheSkinnyPlate: I am intrigued by them as well.

  6. I am from Vermont and have tasted up close and personal the illegade Cheese in the crackers. I had the same experience as @Jeanette. Although I can say there not bad, im not quite sure if my home state had a hand in these crackers. Probably just as much as we do in “Vermont Maid” Syrup BYUKK!

  7. I hated these. I love cheese crackers and assumed these would give a taste with more depth or something ( since they’re marketed ostensibly as more sophisticated). They were incredibly sweet, as if they’d sprinkled cheese powder on an Oreo! I only ate a few and then mailed the box back to the company. I can only speak to the Vermont White Cheddar since that’s the box I purchased.

  8. Not a big fan of cheese crackers, but I am a big fan of Wisconsin, and I feel some satisfaction with the fact that there is no “California” flavored crackers.

    Happy cows my ass….
