NEWS: New BK Bacon Cheddar Ranch Tendercrisp Was Also New In 2005

Before there was…

Gimme back that filet-o-fish
Gimme that fish
Gimme back that filet-o-fish
Gimme that fish
What if it was you hanging up on this wall?
If you were in that sandwich you wouldn’t be laughing at all!

There was…

When my belly starts a-rumblin’
And I’m jonesin’ for a treat.
I close my eyes for a big surprise
the Tendercrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch.

I love the Tendercrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch
The breasts they grow on trees
And streams of bacon ranch dressing
Flow right up to your knees

There’s tumbleweeds of bacon
And cheddar paves the streets
Folks don’t front you ’cause you got the juice
There’s a train of ladies comin’ with a nice caboose
Never get in trouble, never need an excuse
The Tendercrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch

I point this out to show proof that the new Burger King Bacon Cheddar Ranch Tendercrisp is not so new.

And to get that Filet-o-Fish song stuck in your head…again.

Sticklers will point out that the 2009 version is called the Bacon Cheddar Ranch Tendercrisp, while the 2005 version was called the Tendercrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch, but both pretty much contain the same ingredients. The latest version has crispy white meat chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese and a bacon ranch sauce in between a premium bun.

The BK Bacon Cheddar Ranch Tendercrisp contains 990 calories, 58 grams of fat, 17 grams of saturated fat, 1 gram of trans fat, and 2190 milligrams of sodium. It’s available for a limited time and may come back in the future as the Bacon Tendercrisp Cheddar Ranch.

  1. At least they’re not using that Spongebob Squarepants/Sir Mix-A-Lot commercial to advertise it… :'(

  2. You know I feel they really missed the ball on Passover by not offering a gefilite fish sandwich. For those of you who do not know, its an awful mashup of sopping wet fish meat eaten by Jews for some unknown reason. Hmm…I smell an update!

  3. Oh, good! I thought I was going crazy for a minute there.

    @Heidi
I’m genuinely unsure how to feel about that commercial.

  4. hmmm well I can’t say much for their lack of originality but I can say that the ingredients sound like they would at least lead to a chance of it being Good Eats, still I agree with Heidi using sir mix a lot and spongebob to sale food = fail

  5. Oh yeah…I also seem to recall a version of the song where some of the lyrics end with “all your lotto tickets paid, there’s a king that wants you to have it your way”…something like that.

Also I didn’t catch that the name of the sandwich was altered some…John called it by it’s original name.

  6. TENDERCRISP MY ASS I feel BK is on somekind of repeat
roll for some time. Remember the mini buddys and the
repeat pies now the tendercrisp. whats old is new again I quess

  7. Heidi I too saw that wretched Sir Mix-a-Lot/Spoongebob commercial and it hurt me in my heart, it felt as if I would never be cheerful again *Sigh* Marvo, do you think that the BK Bacon Cheddar Ranch Tendercrisp could be the begining of dark times and a wave of Chicken Tendercrisp oppression? Or am I just still a little upset over Sir Mix-a-Lot stuping to that level *grief*

  8. @Heidi: I like ranch dressing. I cannot lie. You other brothers can’t deny. When a plate of lettuce comes under my face, there only one thing that can complete that taste.

@Felix Tibs: I’m afraid to read that.

@maxchain: I had to do a double take as well.

@Woodenhand: It sounds good, and the original was not bad, but I wish they would’ve had the courtesy to give it a different name. No one would remember that shit, except for product review bloggers.

@Ryan: Yeah, those lyrics are from the long version. If you click on the YouTube link, you can relive what caused Hootie’s slide to country music and hear those lyrics.

@Neil the hammer: I think BK NEEDS to make a sandwich that combines a Tendercrisp with a Whopper and call it the Whoppercrisp.

@Heidi: I have that song set as a ringtone on my phone. I use it to keep vampires away.

@Villain was born like this…: I’m sure there will be many more Tendercrisp sandwiches in our future. Sadly, I will eat them all to save mankind.
