This month, the Impulsive Buy will be giving away a $25 Starbucks gift card to one lucky reader. For some of you, that’s a work week’s worth of Starbucks coffee. For others, that’s two or three days of Starbucks. And for one or two super-hyper people, a $25 Starbucks gift card will sustain them for less than eight hours.

  19. My first job was working at a Starbucks at a turnpike rest stop 8 years ago & I’ve worked in coffee shops ever since. I’m now the lead barista/assistant manager at an independent shop & a total coffee addict. I’d love it if you’d feed my addiction so I could occasionally treat myself to a soy cappuccino instead of my usual brew of the day with a touch of steamed soy. Kapow!

Oh, Starbucks…I really can’t avoid this place even if I wanted to (and I don’t, because I do enjoy me some Starbucks occasionally!) because it is literally right across the street from my college campus dorm where I currently live…literally, just 100 feet away.   32. I generally do a grande hazelnut latte with fat-free milk… I’m trying to lose some weight and I can stand the skim milk, but not the fake sugar in the syrup.

  38. My favorite of all time Starbucks drink a special something they had called the “Maple Mocciato” … They only had it for ONE CHRISTMAS SEASON and never brought it back. It tasted like pancakes with syrup. The year was 2006. We emailed Starbucks after that and they said they were never bringing it back since it hadn’t done as well as they expected 🙁 Now I just get a peppermint mocha. sigh.

  105. My go-to Starbucks drink? I call it the Harvest Hippie: Nonfat Chai Latte with pumpkin spice syrup…or sometimes the gingerbread syrup (in season, of course).

    Takes delicious to a whole new level 🙂 Oh, but make sure they reduce the # of pumps so it’s not super sweet.

  114. While coffee/tea is a terribly unsustainable addiction, I myself tend to be heavy on Starbucks chai lattes when I have a couple of dollars that I try to pretend I never had. For how little I usually go, a 25$ gift certificate would ideally serve me for about a month. I can’t say it’d last that long though, seems like it’d be extra motivation to get a drink when I don’t need one 🙂

  118. Unsweetened Iced Coffee and nibbles. The bakery stuff is a quick treat, but I get cravings for the Roasted Tomato and Mozzarella Panini.

    However, if I won the card I’d probably give it to my hard-working (16 hour days) husband. He loves to experiment with all the flavors and he really needs the caffeine and calories to make it through the day.

  154. I LOVE the double shot on ice sub vanilla. A lot of the newer Starbucks and newer employees don’t know what it is. Two shots espresso and simple syrup shaken over ice and then cream poured on top. Super delish!

  185. My secret Starbucks recipe – Apple Pie Frappuccino!

    I put the recipe in my phone and if the barrista doesn’t look too busy or stressed, I’ll order it and usually they make some to try for themselves. So good, you’ve got to try it. 🙂

    1) Milk to the first line
    2) Apple juice/cider to the 2nd line
    3) 2,3, or 4 pumps of cinnamon dulce syrup depending on size
    4) frappuccino cream base (#of pumps depending on size again)
    5) scoop of ice + a little extra
    6) blend in caramel sauce and cinnamon powder
    7) top with whipped cream, caramel sauce, and cinnamon powder

    Voila! <3

    When I really just need a caffeine boost, it’s an iced venti caramel Starbucks doubleshot. This item isn’t on the menu anymore, but most baristas know how to make it. I think the venti has 5 shots of espresso.

I had no idea what it was but when she described it to me it sounded right up my alley. I order it on ice (light) sweetened with non fat milk and a dolop of whip on top…..always venti. OMG I have not had one today now I’m craving. :0)

  266. Hi there! The cutest barista I ever encountered was in Miami. He had locs. My fro and his locs would have been a hair match made in coffee heaven. As for the drink choice, I go real simple at starbucks: coffee with soy milk, or caramel hot chocolate.

  275. I drive 30 miles and get 2 Vente mochas that I make last a week. They are really good chilled in my smoothies.

    Our town is too small, so it’s a real treat when I get to break away and get my mocha fix. And yes even with a Sheetz and their coffee…there IS a difference!

  295. I really enjoy the salted caramel iced mocha but it’s a seasonal item, my go to is always triple venti light ice white mocha, and it doesnt hurt that the barista at the location I go to has the looks of a gorgeous Greek God 😉 definitely a good way to start my days!!!
