SPOTTED ON SHELVES – 5/22/2013

Here are some interesting new and limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers. If you’ve tried any of the products, share your thoughts about them in the comments.

Skippy Natural with Dark Chocolate

Damn skippy! Oh, no…I’m not amazed Skippy has a peanut spread with dark chocolate, I just like to write the same way your great grandpa talks. (Spotted by Deanna at Walmart.)

Betty Crocker Cotton Candy Cookie Mix and Frosting

If Betty Crocker’s first Target exclusive cookie mix and frosting flavor is cotton candy, I hope another fair food ends up as the second. Preferably, a deep fried fair food. (Spotted by Richard at Target.)

Jet-Puffed MallowBites Chocolate Brownie Marshmallows

I guarantee, as you’re reading this, there’s a baking blog owner somewhere who’s putting these Jet-Puffed MallowBites Chocolate Brownie Marshmallows into a brownie mix, taking photos of every step, and plans to post the photos and recipe on their blog tomorrow. (Spotted by Sara at Walmart.)

Chobani Flip

Chobani Key Lime Crumble Flip

According to Chobani, I’m supposed to flip for these new yogurts. Well, to be honest, it’s just yogurt with toppings, so it’s not that special to me. The only way I’d flip for Chobani Flip is if there was a liquid spill in front of the Chobani section of the dairy case. Oh wait. That wouldn’t be a flip; it would be a slip. (Spotted by Charmi at Target.)

Thank you to all the photo contributors! 1. I’ve been scared to try greek yogurt, but that Key Lime is gonna make me have to reconsider all that.

  2. “Artificial flavor” Cotton Candy? Is anything about cotton candy remotely natural?

  3. I was not a fan of the key lime pie flavor, and was even less of a fan of the dumb white chocolate chips in there. The coconut w/ chocolate chunks and almond slices are the one seed of those, with the raspeberry/chocolate one a close second

  4. Seconding the COhbani flips recommendation- I personally don’t love non-Greek yogurt (texture thing) but I’ve loved every variety of these I have had. The key lime crumble, something with raspberry and chocolate, and the almond chocolate. I am a huge fan of Chobani, comparing brands on Greek yogurt. The flips aren’t anything special conceptually (yes, yogurt with stuff) but to me, the stuff seems higher quality than others and has the perfect amount. Try it.

  5. I have had the cotton candy cookies with frosting and they taste about like a sugar cookie made from a powder store-bought mix. They smell crazy strong like cotton candy, but the flavor itself wasn’t that strong. Still, it’s a cookie and cookies are awesome.

  6. I love cotton candy flavored anything! Grabbed the cotton candy frosting at Target, it’s amazing. I didn’t even get the cookies. Just mixed the frosting with vanilla ice-cream! Reminds me of when Dairy Queen had the cotton candy blizzard. It’s a must buy for cotton candy fiends.

  7. I bought the cotton candy cookie mix and we loved it. LOVED IT!! I did them with regular pink vanilla frosting and they didn’t stay around for long.
