Trader Joe's Cheddar & Horseradish Potato Chips

Purchased Price: N/A
Size: 7 oz. bag
Purchased at: Trader Joe’s
Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Bold horseradish flavor and creamy cheddar flavor takes your taste buds on a tasty roller coaster ride. If you enjoy horseradish (and its burn), you will love these chips and licking the seasoning off your fingers. Thick chips. Awesome crunch that’s crunchier than other kettle chips.
Cons: Doesn’t come in a huge bag that can double as a body pillow. Only available at Trader Joe’s and there isn’t a Trader Joe’s on the rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

  1. These things are like crack ever if you don’t like horseradish. Sadly, not at the TJs 2 miles from me, only the one 35 miles away.

  2. Horseradish…..what the heck does horseradish mean??? We will not venture a guess.

On another note, these are really fantastic! Thanks for the mention!

  3. I love horseraddish, but these are nasty. That fake cheese flavour is ridiculously strong.

  4. The flavor of these chips are too strong for me, too. Wish they were less flavored and less horseradish tasting, then they’d be great!

  5. Fantastic! Best new chip flavor that I have had in the past 3 years. These have bite and crunch and are incredibly delicious. The sharp taste and mixture of spice and heat from horseradish and cheddar is perfect. Not for everyone but for those that enjoy the zip in their chip, this is it.

  6. These chips were the most disgusting chips I have ever tasted in my life!
I love horse radish but these were beyond nasty!!! I don’t know how anyone could actually choke these down—- 5 adults tried these at our place— 3 out of the 5 love horse radish the other two do not- all of us literally ran to the sink to spit out this horrendous nastiness and chug water right from the tap! Warning people—- this HAS to be a hoax…. Who the hell would pass this stuff??? There has got to be a warehouse full of these nasty spuds!!! Eeewwwww!

  7. Worst chips I’ve ever had in my life. Had to throw out the whole bag after the first two. And this is coming from someone who loves chips, cheddar, and horseradish immensely!

  8. I agree, these things are awful. And I love horseradish, especially with cheddar cheese (the good kind you get at the deli from Vermont, white cheddar mixed with horseradish, sliced) – and on prime rib, or with roast beef sandwiches, and steak and potatoes. I don’t know what the he** they were thinking by using some kind of powdered cheese that makes me gag and artificial or real horseradish flavoring it doesn’t matter, its really strong and gave me a stomach ache. I hate wasabi flavored snacks, so maybe that’s why.

  9. I hate to throw the majority of the contents of this bag away, because, alone they are gag-a-licious. So, do I dare crush these and use them as a topping for oven-baked chicken bites?

  10. I was told yesterday that Trader Joe’s has discontinued carrying these chips. I am bereft. WHY? Are they really any worse for you than other chips? I don’t even like chips as a rule, but I would drive 50 miles out of the way to buy them. They are fabulous.

Has TJ’s also discontinued their individual servings of Pacific Flounder stuffed with crab…another favorite. I went to the Naples, FL store yesterday especially for both of those items. For the second time, no flounder, and when I couldn’t find the chips, I went to a TH’s employee who told me they were discontinued.

Say it isn’t so, Trader Joe!!!!!
