PRIZE DRAWING: Because I Want You To Stuff Your Face With Sara Lee Snack Cakes

Creme Filled and Variety Hi Res

I mostly know Sara Lee for their pound cake, which I would eat straight from the aluminum loaf pan they came in. To be honest, prior to learning about Sara Lee’s new line of Crème Filled Snack Cakes, I didn’t know what else Sara Lee made besides pound cake.

But now my Sara Lee production knowledge has expanded and I now know the Sara Lee Crème Filled Snack Cakes line includes Devil’s Food Crème Cakes, Golden Fudge Cakes, Chocolate Crème Cupcakes and Golden Crème Cakes. Sara Lee also has a new line of Variety Snack Cakes, which include Buttery Sunshine Cakes, Crumb Cakes, and Cheese Topped Crumb Cakes.

If all that sounds wonderful, you’ll be happy to know we’re giving some away. Actually, thanks to the folks at Sara Lee, we’re giving away two Sara Lee Snack Cakes prize packs.

Each prize pack includes:

  • An assortment of Sara Lee Snack Cakes
  • An official Sara Lee logoed lunch box
  • An official Sara Lee logoed water bottle

The new Snack Cakes are now available in select markets across the U.S. including the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Pacific Northwest, South Central and Southern California, but they will be rolling them out nationally in August.

    Kthnxbai.

  5. I mean, of course I’ve eaten a Sara Lee pound cake from the tin, that’s one of the rights of passage for when you’re hungover after drinking rum all night and there’s nothing in the fridge but the pound cake and you steadily end up eating the whole thing throughout the day and you force yourself to drive to another neighborhood to throw the box out because you’re embarrassed with yourself … wait what.

  6. As a kid my grandmother would buy me Sara Lee pound cake because I looooooved it and my mom wouldn’t buy it (aren’t grandmas great!)… She would give me a fork and the whole loaf and let me eat all I wanted… straight from the pan! 🙂

  7. Sara Lee pound cakes were one and still my favorite dessert… I loved it with just some strawberries but now I class it up grilled with some grilled stone fruit.. Yum

  9. I have NOT eaten Sara Lee pound cake strait from the metal container. And that is sad 🙁

  10. Of course, I’ve *never* eaten Sara Lee pound cake straight from the pan.
I always slice it and stab the slices with fork, then eat it.

Oh, and did you know that you can put it in the toaster? YES.

  11. I’ve never had Sara Lee pound cake, but I probably would eat it out of the pan if had the chance.

  12. I have not eaten a Sara Lee pound cake straight from the pan, but now I think I am going to haha.

  13. Heck yes I’ve eaten Sara Lee pound cake right out of the aluminum pan! I regret NOTHING.

  14. I have not eaten the pound cake straight from the pan…but I’d be willing to do it in the future! Haha

  15. I did not know that there was another way to eat Sara Lee Pound Cake besides from the tin. I have also eaten other friends pound cake too! no regrets!

  16. Pound cake from the tin? Never, but I have destroyed many of her cheesecakes straight from the box.

  20. I have actually never eaten Sara Lee pound cake at all, so no, I haven’t eaten it straight from the pan. I am, however, definitely guilty of eating Sara Lee cheesecake straight from the pan if that makes you feel better!

  21. I have never eaten Sara Lee Pound Cake straight from the aluminum pan. Hmmm, maybe I’m missing something.

  22. I have never eaten from the pan. You can’t get enough whipped cream on the slices that way.

  23. The pound cake? I can’t say that I have. The frozen key lime pie is another story though..

  24. I have never eaten Sara Lee poundcake at all, let alone straight from the pan. However, it does sound like a good plan. 😉

  25. No, but I have consumed the majority of a box of Ho-hos in one sitting. Just as shameful.

  26. I find the aluminum tin makes a fantastic hat, after eating^H^H^H^H^H consuming the poundcake in an orgiastic moment of overwrought gastronomical excess.

  27. I’ve never tried Sara Lee poundcake! But, I’m sure I would eat it straight from the pan.

  28. My mother was a local model in the mid-seventies
and she got a job demonstrating Sara Lee products
inside local grocery stores. She wore a beauty queen
banner across her chest that said “Miss Cupcake.” We
ate Sara Lee at home almost daily. We loved the pound cake
then and my family loves it now. And, I have eaten it out of the
aluminum pan standing over the sink late at night!!

  29. I have not eaten Sara Lee pound cake from the pan. Not that I’m opposed to it…the opportunity has just never presented itself.

  30. Not Sara Lee, no — I’m not sure I’ve seen it? Maybe. But store bakery pound cake? Yes. Yesss I have. Fact: you can stuff the Cool Whip and syrupy strawberries all up in there.

  31. No, I’ve never eaten Sara Lee pound cake straight from the pan, but that’s probably only because I’ve never had it. I have been known to eat other foods straight from their packaging though 🙂

  32. I’m not quite sure what is the issue re: sara lee pound cake and its container. I have never taken it from the pan- except to place it in my mouth. when i was a teenager, the pan contained one serving- it was a portable snack.

    1. I would like to win some Sara Lee Snack Cakes. I used to eat Sara Lee Pound Cake when I was a teenager because my mother always had it in the house, and I imagine that I must have eaten it out of the pan at some point. Also, almost every time my brother I spent the night at my Grandmother’s house she would serve Sara Lee Coffee cake for breakfast.

      Thank you.

  33. I have never tried the above Sara Lee treats — but I am not ashamed to say that basically the only way my family eats their pound cake is straight from the container. At least we do it together? Family bonding? Still not acceptable..ok..

  34. I have eaten the pound cake straight from the pan before…no shame in that game! 🙂 And I **need** to win this because my name is Sara Lee! A lunch box and water bottle with my name on them would be RAD!!!!

  35. I’ve cut pieces off the Pound Cake and eaten them one by one, with my fingers, no plate; is that what you mean, or does this involve taking bites out of the cake while still in the pan?

I think the greatest food corporation merger ever was when Sara Lee bought out Jimmy Dean… like a Wall Street Wedding…

  36. Of course, I’ve eaten Sara Lee Pound Cake straight from the aluminum pan. It’s a single-serve portion that’s made to be eaten out of the pan/serving plate.

I’ve yet to try Ms. Lee’s pseudo-Twinkies. I’m up for it.

Now, that Hostess is back, I’m sure that Sara is highly disappointed. But, I’m not proud. I’ll take sloppy seconds. I’ll even report back on if she was any good or not…

  37. Straight from pan animal style for my Sara Lee pound cake 🙂 less dishes!

  38. I don’t really like pound cake, so no, I haven’t eaten it from the pan. Chocolate stuff of any kind… oh yes.

  39. OH my gosh yes. Get some Redi Whip, Some chocolate Sauce, and Sara Lee Pound cake and you have the best night alone you can ask for. Well assuming you eat $20 worth of Taco Bell first. God I hate being engaged.

  40. I have definitely eaten sara lee pound cake straight from the pan. As a side note, I have also eaten the entire contents of a mcdonalds happy meal in blended form (minus the toy)

  41. Never had a Sara Lee pound cake straight from the aluminum loaf pan, but wouldn’t mind trying!

  42. I have never eaten one out of the pan buuut once I ate four Hostess Orange Cupcakes and four Tastykake Peanut Butter Kakes in one sitting. This prize is right up my alley.

  43. I have not eaten a Sara Lee pound cake straight from the aluminum loaf pan. But the seed has been planted for tomorrow!

  44. I have never actually eaten the Sara Lee pound cake but I’m a huge fan of some of their other products

  47. I’ve never eaten it straight from the pan… that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t, however.

  48. I have not eaten it from the pan, or at all really. But if I win this drawing then maybe I will.

  49. I eat Sara Lee pound cake right out of the aluminum pan. I didn’t know there was any other way to eat it…

  50. It is the best right out of the aluminum pan! Theres no time for anything else. It smells so good I cant wait for anything else.

  51. I haven’t eaten the pound cake straight out of the loaf pan….but that’s because it’s not very easy to top with whipped cream and strawberries that way. I have, however, eaten an obscene amount of it in one sitting.

  52. I’ve actually never had a Sara Lee pound cake – in or out of the aluminum pan! Here’s to hoping I win so that I can give it a try. 🙂

  53. I almost burned the house down when I was 10 trying to thaw a Sara lee poundcake in the toaster oven. I forgot to remove the cardboard top! I was a doofus.

  54. Frozen Sara Lee Pound Cake, with Cool Whip or strawberry jam, right from the pan if nobody is watching!

I’ve been eyeing the new snack cakes every time I go shopping, really want to try the Golden Fudge Cakes.

  55. It first starts with thinking, “maybe I’ll eat healthier today. Maybe I’ll get some fruit.” It then becomes a compromise. “Strawberries on top of pound cake. Healthy, right? It’s a start,” you rationalize to yourself.

Hours later, in front of the refrigerator, you’re grabbing fistfuls of butter pound cake from the tray as your formerly fresh produce begins to wilt in real-time room temperature. You are maybe disappointed in yourself. You are maybe sobbing.

Nobody doesn’t do self-loathing like Sara Lee.

  56. I ONLY eat Sara Lee Pound Cake from the aluminum pan! Sometimes I even use utensils.

    1. I love eating Sara Lee poundcake, but typically cut it from the tin, eat it, and then come back for more …

  57. OMG yes I have eaten that poundcake straight from the pan. I also adore the pumpkin pie, which is only available on a “seasonal” basis.

  58. I can’t say that I have eaten it straight from the pan, but I am REALLY looking forward to the opportunity!

  59. I don’t eat Sara Lee pound cake from the aluminum foil pan, because you can’t warm it in the microwave like that, it might spark. I’m fancy like that. Thanks for sharing the Sara Lee love!

  60. there’s nothing better than a perfectly thawed Sara Lee pound cake straight from the pan…
    especially the darkened edges…
    & the very, very middle!

    Y U M ! Y U M ! Y U M !

  61. Sliced and removed from pan prior to eating, but certainly no plate or fork needed! (The last slice of cheesecake, of course, does get eaten straight from the pan.)

  62. Yes I’ve eaten it straight from the pan, foods are just better straight from their containers.

  63. this makes me feel a lot better about myself, because I have eaten many from the pan

  64. Nope never had it straight out of the pan. It usually ends up sliced for faux strawberry shortcake.

  65. I’ve never tried Sara Lee Pound cake, much less (or more?) straight from the pan, but it certainly sounds tempting

  66. it tastes the best cold, out of the pan, and scraping the bottom with a spoon to get every last bit

  67. Yes, in high school, my two best friends and I would just take forks and eat the pound cake out of the foil. There used to be a Sara Lee Outlet in my hometown, so one of my best friends had a freezer in the garage that typically had 3-7 pound cakes in it.–But I definitely haven’t had one in years.

  68. I’ve never eaten Sara Lee pound cake straight from the aluminum loaf pan…but I’m going to this weekend 😉 Pick me!!!!!

  69. I have never eaten Sara Lee pound cake from the pan, but I would have no qualms about doing so if I had some available right now.

  70. Unfortunately I’ve never had the chance to eat it straight from the pan, but who knows – always a first time for everything!

  71. I do seem to recall eating slices of the pound cake directly from the pan. Because digging into a slice somehow doesn’t seem to be as bad as digging into the whole loaf.

  72. straight from the pan? honestly, i’ve never heard of let alone tried sara lee pound cake. but if given the chance, i will for sure eat it out of the pan… like most cake should be!!!

  73. Ate out of pan back in mid 80’s

Still holding out hope that one day you will give something away of value.

  74. I have never eaten Sara Lee pound cake straight from the pan. I’m sorry to disappoint!

  75. To my way of thinking, Sara Lee pound cake is best sliced and toasted on the griddle (no adornments needed). I have used it in quick and easy “torte” recipes too, but don’t recall every eating it straight from the pan.

Funny you should post this, though, because I did a double-take in the store today as I was passing a Sara Lee display and noticed the new items. I’m thinking the Buttery Sunshine Cakes (which appear to be little pound cake muffins) will make a nice not-too-sweet portion-controlled treat.

  76. I have never eaten Sara Lee poundcake directly from the pan. BUT. I make an awesome dessert with it pretty regularly. A slice of poundcake on the bottom. On top of that, fruit that’s been cooked [how you cook it depends on what it is: marinate peaches with ginger and rum then cook down, mash up raspberries with honey and turn it into a compote, grill pineapple and soak in brown sugar/cinnamon, etc] and topped with whipped cream that’s very lightly sweetened. It looks more impressive than it is, and then you can eat all the rest of the poundcake the next day and claim that you’re just using up leftovers.

  77. I eat Sara Lee pound cake out of the aluminum loaf pan when I’m down to the last of it, but other than that I usually cut out a slice and eat it on a plate.

  78. I have never eaten Sara Lee pound cake directly from the pan but it’s never to late to try!

  79. I have never eaten it straight out of the pan lol. Love stacking slices of it with strawberries and cool whip. 🙂

  80. I can’t remember if I’ve eaten pound cake out of the pan or not. I’m sure I have as a child, as my mom always had one in the fridge, but I haven’t actually even had the pound cake in recent memory. Guess what I’m buying at the store this evening?

  81. I have eaten Sara Lee pound cake straight from the plan when it was still frozen. Pound cake-sicle!

  82. I don’t think I’ve ever actually had Sara Lee pound cake, but now I want to – maybe even out of the pan with a spoon.

  83. The only way to eat Sara Lee Pound Cake is straight from the tin. My sister and I used to share one and she loved it so much she named her daughter Sara Lee (true story).

  84. I have actually never eaten any of Sara Lee’s products before… Little Debbie, yes, but I generally stick to Hostess

  85. I didn’t think there was another way to eat those deliciously awful baked goods to be honest.

  86. I haven’t, but I when I buy one with some sliced frozen strawberries and off-brand cool-whip, I’ll sometimes eat a spoon of that straight out of the freezer.

  87. I’m pretty sure I have eaten Sara Lee pound cake straight out of the loaf pan at some point and knowing me it was probably with my fingers.

  88. Wait….I didn’t realize that there was any other way to eat Sara Lee pound cake. I have a hard enough time waiting for it to come to room temperature.

  89. I have never tried Sara Lee pound cake. didn’t even know they existed! Need to go find some today…

  90. I don’t like pound cake. But I have eaten Sara Lee cheesecake straight out of the pan!

  91. I’m pretty sure I have not eaten Sara Lee poundcake directly from the aluminum pan. I would love to have some free snacks!

  92. I much prefer their pound cake with fresh mixed berries and whipped cream….but I have totally eaten it straight out of the foil pan.

  93. I have not eaten Sara Lee poundcake from the aluminum pan, but now I might have to. Also… PICK ME!!!!

  94. The Sara Lee coffee cake is incredible, and I need to buy some soon and eat the whole thing in one sitting. I have had the pound cake, but I don’t think I’ve eaten it right out of the pan.

  95. I have not eaten Sara Lee pound cake straight from the pan, but I might try it someday.

  96. I didn’t even know they made pound cake…but now i’m going to have to buy some tonight…and eat it straight out of the pan.

  97. My grandmother loves buying the sara lee pound cake. She got me in the habit now I always buy 2 one for my kids and one for me so I can eat it right out of the pan.

  98. Why would you dirty a plate when you don’t have to? Saving myself from washing a dish makes it taste even better.

  99. I have not eaten a Sarah Lee pound cake straight from the pan, but I would. Oh yes, I would.

  100. I haven’t eaten Sara Lee pound cake straight from the pan before, but I’ve eaten undercooked brownies straight from the pan before, and pizza straight from the pan, and corn bread straight from the pan, and…well, you get it. I most definitely would eat Sara Lee pound cake straight from the pan.

    Pick ME 😀

  101. Nope, never straight from the pan but I do love using the pound cake for fudge cheesecake parfaits… (possibly worse?)

  102. I’ve never had Sarah Lee pound cake, but if I had I’m sure I would have ate it out of the pan.

  103. Nope, I can’t say I’ve ever eaten a Sara Lee pound cake right from the pan. Although it doesn’t sound too bad…

  104. I have not eaten the pound cake straight from the pan, but I am not opposed to it. 😀

  105. Mmm. I do NOT — not like Sara Lee! Never eaten pound cake straight out of the pan before, but it really sounds like something I WOULD do. Something I SHOULD do.

  106. I eat everything straight from the pan, it’s about not using unnecessary dishes (lazy)

  107. I never had the Sara Lee pound cake before. I’ve tried a couple of their products, but not many.

  108. Yes, I have eaten from the pan. I prefer to take a slice, put it in the toaster and put berries or jam on it (the cake, not the toaster). Then I eat it, making charming little piggie noises all the while.

  109. “Nobody doesn’t like Sara Lee” is a weird double negative that I’ve never been able to stand behind. However, I DO stand behind eating cake straight from its tin.

  110. I’ve never eaten Sara Lee pound cake out of the pan, but I’m not above it. Perhaps with some whipped cream on top…

  111. I ate it many times and still do right out of the tin. Always have enjoyed it. Great taste.

  112. I have never done that, but my mind is blown that it isn’t “Nobody does it like Sara Lee”!

  113. I’m not sure I’ve ever had Sara Lee Pound Cake before, mostly because I’d probably end up eating half of it straight out of the pan! The new Sara Lee snack cakes are pretty awesome though! I saw those for the first time a month or two ago here in northern Illinois

  114. Sorry Marvo, I’ve never eaten Sara Lee pound cake straight from the aluminum loaf pan BUT I’d love to eat them from a shiny new lunchbox and neato water bottle! Crossing my fingers, hoping to win! Thanks!

  115. Can’t say that I have, but nothing wrong with not wanting to lose a single crumb of cake.

  116. There is no wrong way to eat Sara Lee poundcake. Sadly, have not eaten it straight from the pan, always used a plate, fingers, napkin

  117. I can’t say I’ve ever eaten Sara Lee poundcake from the pan, but I just might have to add that to my bucket list 🙂

  118. No, I’ve not eaten Sara Lee pound cake straight from the pan. Or in any iteration. But no shame in gluttony, Marvo.

  119. I have never eaten it straight out of the pan, but it sounds delicious! I might go do it now.

  120. I’ve never eaten Sara Lee pound cake straight from the aluminum loaf pan…but if I had one, I would certainly do it right now.

  121. I am sad to say I have never eaten a Sara Lee pound cake straight out of the aluminum pan. I relish eating from a plate!

  122. I’ve done this many times! Haven’t had one of those pound cakes in years. Wish I could have one now!

  123. I’ve never eaten pound cake from the pan, but I frequently eat entire cartons of Ben & Jerry’s from the container. Thanks for always showing me new snacks to try, like watermelon oreos and peanut butter pop tarts!

  124. Never had Sara Lee pound cake so never have had the pleasure of eating if from the pan lol 🙂

  125. I cut it into pieces while still in the pan, and I have a bowl of chocolate chips that I heat up in the microwave. I take a fork and take a square of pound cake and dip it in the melted chocolate. It is hard to find a dessert that tastes better than that. There is no substitute for Sara Lee pound cake RIGHT out of the pan when it’s just a tiny shade past being frozen.

  126. I have not eaten Sara Lee pound cake straight from the pan, but I recall slicing into it while it’s still frozen. Mmmm…strawberry shortcake…

  127. I’m pretty sure I’ve never eaten a Sara Lee pound cake straight from the aluminum loaf pan…

  128. It’s been awhile since I’ve had Sara Lee, but I’ve definitely picked from the pan. I had no idea Sara Lee made those other desserts; they look so yummy they should come in pan form too!

  129. I’ve eaten it straight from the pan plenty of times! I have never tried their cream filled cakes.

  130. i have found that my head will not fit in the pan after 4 bites, so i have to remove the rest of the cake to eat it. gimme snacks, snack man.

    1. Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! I had the Sara Lee Pound Cake and I
Loveee it; And yes I had the opportunity of a life time
I can’t give it away just yet but yummy, yummy I had the
Chocolate Creme Filled Sara Lee Snack Cake and I could
Never get enough; I can’t wait till they come in stores.
Hint: You’ll see me soon when the advertisement begins.

  131. I don’t think I have even ever had Sara Lee pound cake. My mom wouldn’t let me eat these things, and after I lived on my own, I don’t eat much pound cake.

  132. I used to eat Sara Lee straight from the box as a kid, haven’t had any in years now though,

  133. Add some whipped cream and strawberry dessert topping to that aluminum loaf pan and you’ve got a ghetto strawberry shortcake. I may or may not have done this, you’re not alone!

  134. As far as I know, I have only had Sara Lee Pound Cake once and I did slice it from the aluminum pan and put the rest back in the freezer. It’s still there. Does that count?

I’m excited about the snack cakes – nobody does it like Sara Lee! It was a sad day when I discovered I had been saying the slogan wrong for roughly 20 years.

  135. I don’t thiiiiink I’ve ever eaten Sara Lee pound cake straight from the aluminum pan…

… But when you plunk the whole cake out of the pan to slice and serve it, it leaves some delicious scraps behind, and I have CERTAINLY used my bare finger to scrape those up while I was in the kitchen alone.

  136. I have not eaten Sara Lee pound cake straight from the pan; however, now that the idea has been put into my head, I think I might need to. Just so you can feel better about yourself.

  137. I’ m pretty sure I’ve eaten Sara Lee pound cake straight from the pan because I always have so much trouble finding clean dishes. I eat a lot from pans. I even buy disposable pie pans for cooking things in the oven and eat from that pan. So Marvo, you are not alone. I remember many years ago when young and obnoxious, I got a little Sara Lee pound cake for the birthday of an office mate who was getting old in my view (I was about 20, so he might have been turning 30 or 40). Anything bigger was not in the budget. Every square millimeter of that little pan was filled with candles for the birthday boy. He was not amused.

  138. Seriously, is there any other way to eat the thing? Sometimes I go from the pan to my plate, but that’s about it. nWo 4 Life!

  139. I have not eaten a Sara Lee poundcake directly from the tin, but have done so with the cherry cheesecakes. The new Dark Chocolate Fudge covered devils food snack cakes with vanilla creme are amazing. I recommend refreigerating them before consuming, So, so good.

  140. Absolutely have eaten it out of the pan – if I used a plate it’d mean having to do dishes!!

  141. I may have, possibly, long ago… it’s been ages since I had their pound cake. Back when we had a little Sara Lee shop or something, that carried strawberry swirled pound cake. I loved that stuff. It’s no longer sold ANYWHERE near you. Darn you, store locator!

  142. I have not eaten a whole Sara Lee pound cake from the pan, as my family usually cut it into pieces for strawberry short cake. I did not realize until you brought it up that those cakes are ideally a serving for one, not meant for a plate. My bad! Better send me some so I can fix my error.

  143. I have never tried eating Sara lee straight from the tin, but I’d like to try!!!

  144. I’ve not YET eat Sarah Lee pound cake straight from the pan. But – that might just be on my agenda for tonigh. Toppings.. hmm.. caramel, chocolate chips and pecans. Oh and lots of Whippped Cream. Yep – Its a Date 🙂
    Thanks!

  145. I have eaten it out of the tin. And once it was half done, filled the empty half w/ice cream and ate the combo out of the tin. (Granted, I had help…)

  146. It’s been years since I had their poundcake. But I recall it being delicious, and I haven’t eaten it out of the tin. I usually didn’t like the tin and was eager to get a slice out of it.

  147. Our pound cake is usually portioned out so nobody has the opportunity to scarf it down directly from the pan. But generally, if you are eating it from the pan, it tastes so good you can’t resist, and there is nothing wrong with that!

  148. I haven’t eaten a pound cake straight from the aluminum, but I would definitely eat one of their cheesecakes straight from the pan in one sitting.

  149. I have eaten pound cake straight from the tin. I have also eaten it straight out of the tin after dousing it with mass quantities of Hershey’s syrup and Cool Whip topping. That’s how I roll…

  150. Of course I ate it straight out of that aluminum pan… and I didn’t even have time to search for a knife or fork – NO – I ate that b*tch with my fingers.
