  1. Tried Strawberry Fields salad. Big disappointment! Bring back the berry almond chicken salad, please!

    1. Joan,

While I never tried the berry almond, and I expect I would have loved it, I did really like Strawberry Fields as the best fast food salad I have ever tried. It sold very well at our Wendy’s in AZ. Now they have a Berry Summer salad. It is good, but it is not addicting to me as like Strawberry Fields. The next best salad I have ever had in fast food is Chik-fil-a’s Southwest Chicken Salad with a creamy salsa dressing.

      1. I did always ask for blue cheese on side; my second Strawberry Field salad had too much blue cheese and ruined it for me. Once I controlled the Blue cheese, it was great!

  2. I have never eaten a worse salad than this. The ingredients do not go well together, at least in my opinion strawberries do not belong with onion. Also, I was given spicy cashews instead of sunflower seeds which just made it worse. They need to bring back the berry almond chicken salad because it was the only salad that I didn’t find to be disgusting. It was actually quite good. Whoever tasted this salad and decided it was good probably needs their taste buds checked out.

  3. I loved it ! The bacon & blue cheese crumbles add to the high sodium. I will agree that the berry almond chicken salad was better but I will get the strawberry fields salad again !

  4. I tried it and honestly the flavor combination was rather disgusting. The ingredients do NOT go together well at all. The blue cheese was bitter and overpowering, add the bacon and the onions and you have a complete disaster. Bring back the Berry Almond Chicken salad – which was refreshing and delicious – I looked forward to it and honestly practically lived on the thing last summer. I will NEVER get the Strawberry Fields again.

    1. Too bad, I loved it, but I asked for blue cheese on side. I would only add about 3/4 tsp to salad, and no large chunks. I do agree it could ruin the salad.

  5. To echo what everyone else is saying, I was highly disappointed by Strawberry Fields salad, it was nothing like the Berry Almond Chicken Salad, which was a summertime staple for the past couple of years. Why replace blueberries with onions?? Not a smart choice 🙁 I tried it once, never again.

  6. I loved It!! This salad was very good… I think the blue cheese goes well with the strawberries…The combination of ingredients works well together.. I enjoyed it… Don’t be so closed minded and to decide if someone likes this salad that there’s something wrong with them… The con would be the sodium is so high… I will buy it again but will balance the sodium with some potassium… Smiling..

  7. I LOVED IT!!! 🙂 I DIDNT THINK THE DRESSING AND STRAWBERRY COMBINATION WAS GOING TO TASTE GOOD, I WAS WRONG THE SWEETNESS OF THE BERRIES WITH THE BACON AND CHEESE CRUMBLES WAS TASTY. I WILL BE MAKING THIS AT HOME. THIS IS A MUST TRY SALAD… YUMMMM YUMMM.

  8. I didn’t care for it! I bought this thinking they had just changed the name of the berry almond salad ,was very disappointed ,blue cheese yuck…it doesn’t need bacon it already has chicken, onion with strawberry just doesn’t work…please bring the berry almond salad back!!

  9. We enjoyed the strawberry salad very much! I will be back for more and to try the apple salad as well.

  10. I enjoy the salad WITHOUT the blue cheese. I am not a blue cheese fan. I do like the berry almond chicken salad better though so would love to see it back!

  11. Haven’t eaten at Wendy’s in years, but this salad sounded & looked good in their TV ad……..so decided to try it. I LOVED IT! The dressing pulled it all together. It will be my summer favorite.

    1. Yeah, me too! I was going to Wendy’s 2-3 times a week once I tried the Strawberry Field salad. Before that I would go maybe 1 time a year. I found the Spicy Asian salad to my liking after they retired the Strawberry Field, but I miss it!

  12. I liked this salad, although like other posters it wasn’t quite as tasty as the Berry Almond Chicken. It is much better than most fast-food salads. I brought it home for dinner but used my own homemade Vinaigrette dressing and added a few toasted almonds…I didn’t care for the apple-based vinaigrette dressing at all.

  13. Hey have to agree – absolutely disappointed with the new strawberry fields salad – Berry Almond salad was one of the reasons I started enjoying salad – I have to write/Beg Wendys to Never sell this new salad again- I could not even finish it – I detected so many intense overpowering elements – so instead of about 40 salads I would order over the summer – it’s going to be 1 in 2014 for wendys – found the dressing online and now going to try and make the berry almond salad at home..

    1. Can you post what you found for a the Berry Almond salad – did it taste similar?

I did like the Strawberry Fields, but I would get blue cheese on the side – too much would certainly ruin it for me. I sprinkled about 1/2 – 3/4 tsp throughout, and no big chunks – it was very strong cheese.

How do you like the new Berry Summer salad? I find it okay, but I find Wendy’s is the very best place for a fast food healthy salad – like Spicy Asian, or Apple pecan, etc.

  14. I LOVE THIS SALAD! FLAVORS OF EVERYTHING …. DELICIOUS! ! ! My new favorite thing to eat there!

  15. I thoroughly enjoyed the strawberry fields salad. I do think the combination works. Since I’ve never had the almond chicken salad, I cannot compare. I will purchase the strawberry fields salad again.

  16. I absolutely love this salad. I never thought all the ingredients would go together, but they do. The apple balsamic vinaigrette dressing is what tops it off. Just wish I could buy the dressing.:-(

    1. I’ve been able to buy individual packets of just the Caesar dressing. It was .25 or .50 per packet.

    2. You can buy it, do an online search for Marzetti Apple Balsamic dressing, you will find Marzetti’s site and can
order the packets in boxes. Some of their dressings can be ordered by the bottle, but last time I checked, this
      was available only in packets.

    3. Totally Agree! Would buy the dressing instantly if it was available for purchase! Absolutely my favorite salad and dressing!!!

  17. I’m so in love with this salad! I’ve never been a fan of blue cheese, but it really compliments it.

  18. I tried this as a healthier alternative and I actually really enjoyed the salad but I didn’t care for the dressing I almost think a regular italian dressing would have been better

    1. This is not healthy. It comes with bacon and cheese. The dressing is also flavored with bacon fat. Gross!!!

  19. I LOVE this salad. The combination is fantastic. Very Refreshing!
    Thank you Wendys!

  20. Omg;)) I LOVE this salad. The combination is fantastic. Very Refreshing!
    Thank you Wendys!

  21. Strawberry fields salad but the wendy’s on jericho turnpike closest to Syosset didn’t add the bacon. Sad.
Can you tell them how it should be done, please?

  22. How do they sneek in over 1000mg of sodium in this delicious salad???? Wow that’s depressing

  23. I was smitten by this salad, but when I found out how bad it was for me, I started to make my own version.
I took the salad home and made a list of the ingredients. Then made the vinaigrette myself.

I took the salad dressing package home. It is called Apple Balsamic Vinaigrette. I took the ingredients from it and made my own and it tastes just as good. I will tweak it a bit more tho. I have skipped the Soy Bean Oil as soy was not meant for human or animal consumption, and added my own oil of choice which is peanut oil or light olive oil. I usually add other things that I like that are good for me, so it will not taste exactly like Wendy’s dressing. If anyone wants my recipe, let me know and I will post it. And I do not add any salt.

I make my own salad and make a large amount and put each ingredient in separate containers. That way when I want another salad, It is just like going to a salad bar, I choose what I want at that specific time.
When I have ordered the Wendy’s Salad, I tell them to skip the things I don’t like, i.e.: cheese, bacon, and have used their dressing, but discontinued it when I found out it contained bacon fat, and other not so good stuff. I don’t like any off the shelf salad dressings anyway as they all contain soy or canola oils, which is not good for your liver. Soy messes up your hormones, etc. and canola has its own drawbacks and it’s highly unlikely one is able to get organic, even if they say it is. Too much GMO that they won’t say it is.
    Have a great day everyone.

    1. Doreen, I would love for you to post your recipe. I love this salad and dressing, but would like a healthy alternative

  24. My absolute favorite salad. I actually found this website looking for a copy cat recipe for the vinaigrette.
