SPOTTED ON SHELVES – 10/1/2014

Here are some interesting new and limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers. If you’ve tried any of the products, share your thoughts about them in the comments.

Nestle Coffee-mate Hazelnut Natural Bliss

Why isn’t there a Nutella coffee creamer? That would fly off the shelves like Trader Joe’s Cookie Butter. Also, why isn’t there cookie butter coffee creamer? (Spotted by Lindsay at Meijer.)

Kraft Hot Habanero String Cheese

I can slowly burn my mouth…string by string. (Spotted by Lindsay at Meijer.)

Quaker Real Medleys SuperGrains

Ooooh! Super Grains! The only thing super about quinoa is how super hard it is to figure out how to say “quinoa.” (Spotted by Lindsay at Meijer.)

Utz Limited Edition Yuengling Hot Wing Sauce Potato Chips

Ewww! Two old Pennsylvanians hooking up! (Spotted by Michelle at Mars Super Markets.)

Russell Stover Apple Pie Candy Pumpkin

All these Russell Stover Candy Pumpkins look alike. (Spotted by Shannon at Walgreens.)

P.F. Chang's Home Menu Chicken Mini Egg Rolls and Steamed Brown Rice

Mmm…frozen microwaveable brown rice. (Spotted by Jeff at Safeway.)

  1. Uncle Ben has microwavable rice in more than a dozen varieties, don’t think the frozen rice is going to be a big seller.

    1. I dunno- when I first saw Birdseye’s frozen rice, I sneered at it (“how lazy can you be?”) but then during a really busy spell I found myself buying it…. Depends on how good it is also, every rice tastes different.

  2. Traders joes should do a cookie butter coffee creamer. Or a cookie butter syrup for sundae

  3. The apple pie pumpkin is surprisingly good in a weird, gritty way. Russell Stover also has a pumpkin flavored pumpkin (okay) and a pecan pie pumpkin (turtle-like).

  4. The Apple Pie pumpkin SUCKED! Tasted entirely of cinnamon. I had the Pecan Pie one, and it was only marginally better. Most of the Russell Stover stuff is pretty good (Wedding Cake FTW) but this is not among them.
