SPOTTED ON SHELVES – 3/11/2015

Here are some interesting new and limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers. If you’ve tried any of the products, share your thoughts about them in the comments.

Hudsonville Limited Edition Pure Michigan Winter Campfire Ice Cream

Hudsonville Limited Edition Pure Michigan Winter Campfire Ice Cream

I want to vote for ice cream flavors! I’m tired of voting for Lay’s chips and The Voice contestants. Hudsonville Limited Edition Pure Michigan Winter Campfire Ice Cream features vanilla ice cream with a marshmallow swirl, graham cracker pieces, and milk chocolate flakes. (Spotted by Lindsay at Meijer.)

Morningstar Farms Chipotle Black Bean Crumbles

Morningstar Farms Garden Veggie Nuggets

For a second I thought the MorningStar Farms Garden Veggie Nuggets above had mini M&M’s in them. But then I thought that would be silly because they wouldn’t be 100% vegan if they had M&M’s. (Spotted by Lindsay at Meijer.)

Pringles Dips! (Jalapeno Cheddar, Honey Dijon, and Creamy Ranch)

Pringles Dips! (Jalapeno Cheddar, Honey Dijon, and Creamy Ranch)

Never thought of Pringles as dippable chips…I’m sorry, Pringles. Crisps. (Spotted by Keith at a convenience store.)

Sun-Maid Raisin Cinnamon Tortillas

Not sure how I’d use these. (Spotted by Amy W. at Mollie Stone’s.)

  1. As soon as Taco Bell sees those tortillas, they’ll probably deep fry them and fill them with Apple or cherry pie filling. That’s what I’d do 🙂

    1. That is exactly what I was thinking…kind of like a Mexican dessert crepe. Or use them in the breakfast menu and put like cream cheese in the middle.

  2. Maybe some Nutella inside those raisin cinnamon tortillas? But then, Nutella is the sweet sriracha and can go on anything.

  3. Those tortillas would be awesome with some cheddar grilled like a quesadilla. Have you ever had a grilled cheese w cinnamon raisin bread? It’s so good!

  4. Mr. Pedantic here… the s’mores ice cream container mentions having “original” ice cream, not vanilla.

    1. You are correct, but I had no idea what “original” means (and I assume some people might wonder the same thing), so I went digging to find out. After a quick Google search, I found the link on the Hudsonville website that describes all the flavors: http://hudsonvilleicecream.com/puremichigan/

If you go to that link, it says the following:

Winter Campfire Original Vanilla ice cream with a marshmallow swirl, graham cracker pieces and milk chocolate flakes. Curl up with a bowl of Winter Campfire and watch the snow and cold melt away. Vanilla ice cream with marshmallow, graham crackers and chocolate creates the perfect frozen version of your favorite campfire treat. Just be sure to enjoy before it melts!

I typed “vanilla” in my caption because it’s vanilla ice cream.

  5. I bought these about a month ago! I really liked them except I thought they could have had a more raisin hint to them. It seemed to have been faded by the tortilla taste. I have been following your blog for a while now and I just started a blog reviewing nutrition and fruit and nut bars, do you have any suggestions for me as I can only dream that mine could be half as successful and fun as yours!

    Thanks!!
