SPOTTED ON SHELVES: Hungry-Man Selects Boneless Fried Chicken & Waffles

Hungry-Man Selects Boneless Fried Chicken & Waffles

I think the only way this could be worse is if it was Kid Cuisine Boneless Fried Chicken & Waffles. (Spotted by Nathan at H-E-B.)

  1. Yes, 2 things that really don’t handle the transition to microwaved TV dinners well in the same meal. Nothing like mushy chicken w/ mushy waffles.

  2. Ah, but the Kid Cuisine would come with sprinkles and molten pudding (chocolate, thought im sure you’ll also find some corn kernels…).

  4. I used to eat Hungry Man chicken “fingers” with cheese “fries” – but only possible way to even eat it was cooking it in the oven for like.. 45 min to an hour. Even then, could end up with uncooked potatoes or super soggy/mushy chicken.

It looks decent, but wouldn’t touch this with a 10 ft pole if it had to be microwaved. Rather get tyson chicken tenders and some eggos.

  5. I bought a couple of these and when I went to heat them up I noticed there was no conventional oven instructions. Am I to understand that this product can only be heated up in the microwave? I did use the microwave and it did not come out well. Frozen meals always turn out better if heated in the oven. Since microwave cooking this in my 1100 watt microwave oven made this meal come out soggy and generally gross I won’t be buying it again. If this is a microwave only product they need to state that on the box.

  6. I found oven directions in Google. Preheat oven to 350. Take plastic off entire meal unless you like softer potatoes. Leave plastic on potatoes and poke holes. Take waffles out of meal and put back in freezer. Cook meal for 30 minutes. Put waffles on same baking sheet or separate one. Put in oven with meal for an additional 10 minutes. I always cook my TV dinners five minutes more then directions. So I did 35 minutes and additional 10 with Waffles

    1. Thanks for the info…I was surprised to see only microwave instructions…didn’t think it would be very good in the microwave. Going to try it with your directions tonight!

    2. Thank you so much for adding instructions for the conventional oven. Major over sight on the part of the company. Waffles need to be crispy, chicken needs to be lightly crispy and you can’t do that with the microwave.
