  1. My best friend that passed away last year, loved Reuben sandwiches. The real ones with sauerkraut in them, not thousand island. I will have to review those for him and the others. Is it sad that the Lays do us a flavor contest is a highlight of my year?

      1. It should be!! I know I am so happy seeing them in the store and well the whole experience afterwards.

    1. “The real ones” ??? … never saw a Reuben in NYC without dressing (Russian or Thousand)

    2. Jodi, its not sad at all! New flavors of chips (and ice cream!) thrill me too. I hope the corned beef flavor is decent enough that your friend would have approved. Enjoy!

  2. Oooohmygosh I’m looking forward to trying the Reuben flavor. And I’m going to take a wild guess and assume the truffle fries flavor will taste like most any other truffle flavored thing. Not that that’s entirely bad and I’ll hopefully get a chance to try those at some point as well (because… they’re not going to win this contest).

  3. Amazon has a pack of 5 single-serve bags of each flavor for $20.

  4. Although i love reuben (salty meat beef or corned beef and sauerkraut ftw) i would look so much forward to the biscuit and gravy flavor, my all time favorite breakfast dish!!
I’m so sad i will never be able to try them here in germany… 🙁

I really hope there will be a review on all three on them here!!! There has to be 😀

  5. Those flavors are good sounding flavors. It could be better or worse. Those flavors seems to pair with chips well.

  6. I wish they would package all the bags (small sizes) in a larger bag, like Boulder chips did with their Thanksgiving feast. It would help Lays out because they wouldnt be stuck with 10,000 bags of Cappuccino

  7. My area (a major city in Northern CA), has yet to get last year’s flavors. I’m not holding my breath to get to try this year’s.

  8. I think I would be more interested in the Reuben chips if I hadn’t already seen various sites to blind taste tests of the new flavors in which nobody guessed Ruben for those chips. Most concentrated on the cheesiness of those chips, guessing things like Queso and Chili cheese fries. Still, they might be good.

  9. It seems a lot better than last year, those truffle fries sound pretentious and nasty.

  10. I still can’t believe they didn’t pick the flavor I submitted, Jambalaya. Fits the “Flavors of America” theme and it even has “Lay” in it for Chrissakes.

    1. Mine either. I submitted Rueben last year. And I submitted Pico de Gallo last year & they came out w/ it while the contest was still going on, claiming “an employee” had just come up w/ it. Yea.

  11. The truffle fries sound delicious!!! How in the world do they sound pretentious? That is such a strange statement when talking about chips. I personally can’t wait to try them.

    1. The Truffle Fries ones are pretty good. Definitely kind of a buttery thing goin’ on, with a bit of peppery, a bit of cheesy, and a truffle oil thing as well with a little bit of parsley! Th
His is the only one I can bring myself to try!!

  12. Some people just have more basic tastes than others so anything different like truffles will seem pretentious to them. But they sound delicious to me! I’m most excited to try them, especially since they’re from my side of the country.
