FAST FOOD NEWS: Wendy’s Power Mediterranean Chicken Salad

Wendy s Power Mediterranean Chicken Salad

If you live in Columbus, Ohio; Greensboro, North Carolina; or Wichita, Kansas, you can graze on a new salad Wendy’s is testing. Their Power Mediterranean Chicken Salad features grilled chicken, feta cheese, Mediterranean hummus, light balsamic vinaigrette, and a sun-dried tomato quinoa blend on a bed of spring mix greens and iceberg and romaine lettuce.

What’s a sun-dried tomato quinoa blend? Besides being something that’s extremely foreign in many fast food kitchens, it’s a combination of red bell peppers, green zucchini, yellow squash, garbanzo beans, great northern beans, brown rice, red quinoa, white quinoa, and sun-dried tomatoes.

The salad has 430 calories, 14 grams of fat, 4 grams of saturated fat, 115 milligrams of cholesterol, 1220 milligrams of sodium, 38 grams of carbohydrates, 18 grams of sugar, 8 grams of fiber, and 39 grams of protein.

  1. If you go to Wendys stick with the salad as the burgers have gotten to be so disgusting tasting as to not be edible! What the hell are they using for meat – it tastes off like its gone bad the last 2 times at our local Wendys. Its sad as years ago Wendys USED to be one of the best burgers around, oh yeah before Dave died and the greedy daughter took over!

  2. Will this salad ever come to NY? It looks delicious and I would like to try it but it isn’t offered in my area.

    1. It will be available starting from May at all North American Wendy’s and it will replace the Asian cashew salad on the menu permanently.

  3. Had it tonight and was very pleased with it. The hummus was so flavorful I didn’t even need the balsamic dressing. I also notice they have a black bean burger on the menu! Would like to try that next!

  4. Just had it for the first time yesterday at a Wendy’s in Mufreesborough TN – never saw it before. It was delicious! I felt like I was at Panera Bread!

  5. I just had this today, and it was delicious!
I will definitely get this again.

  6. My husband and I are eating this for the first time and are quite pleased. Kudos to Wendy’s for a healthy alternative,

  7. Oh my goodness, I love this salad! What a great, healthier alternative in Knoxville’s fast food world! I’ve already had 3 this week, and just picked up my fourth. I’m in love!

  8. Eating it now – very tasty and very little, if any, need for dressing. However, I am sad it replaced the Asian salad – it was my favorite.

  9. I’m eating it right now and honestly think it tastes horrible. What is the sauce (looks like BBQ sauce) on the grilled chicken? Asian salad was one of my all time favorites and why I went to Wendy’s tonight. Might have to drive the extra mile or so next time to a different fast-food for a different salad. Sorry Wendy’s made the change.

  10. I decided to head to Wendy’s for lunch today. I got the Mediterranean Power Salad – it was absolutely delicious. Mediterranean food my favorite so I was highy pleased. The combination of all of the flavors was perfect and the light balsamic vinegar really took it over the edge! I would definitely recommend this salad to any one!

  11. This is now my favorite fast food type salad, by far! So delicious, fresh tasting with rich flavors. I don’t even think the dressing packet was needed, though I did pour on half of it before I knew. The hummus over the top is delicious and basically makes for a dressing. I ordered the half size to eat at home but wished I had the full instead because I wanted more! Keep this salad, Wendy’s!

  12. This salad had about as much flavor as cardboard. I’m not sure what all this hummus talk is about, I didn’t have a drop on mine and it was all iceberg lettuce, not mixed greens. Extremely disappointed!
