SPOTTED ON SHELVES: New 2016 Kickstart Flavors

New 2016 Kickstart Flavors

What flavor should I drink to kickstart my journey through all of these Kickstart flavors? (Spotted by Josh at Walmart.)

    1. It’s probably because people were ‘outraged’ that the ‘skinny’ cans were promoting an unhealthy body image. *hee hee*

Seriously though, I can’t find these anywhere!

    2. The small ones are part of the Mountain Dew Kickstart Hydrating Boost series, while the larger ones are part of the original Mountain Dew Kickstart series. The difference besides size is that there is coconut water in the Hydrating Boosts and other stuff probs.

  1. Blood orange and midnight grape were not available at my local Walmart. Hopefully they will be soon because those are the 2 flavors I found most interesting.
I did pick up a blueberry pomegranate one. It is pretty good though I do wish the blueberry hit was a little stronger. You can taste it at first, but then the strong citrus taste chases it away.

  2. Which flavor? Duh! Melon over all!
(though I could imagine grape to be a great Mountain Dew flavor too ^^)

  3. Not sure if anyone is still following but just finished a Midnight Grape and it was just “ok'”. Thick, slightly syrupy, and it tasted a lot like cough syrup (not quite as good as Grape Dimetapp). Not bad, but not necessarily a winner.

  4. I tried all 4 and yeah Midnight Grape has 16 ounces over the 12 ounce cans for the other flavors. Honestly I thought all 4 ranged from acceptable to “pretty good”. Watermelon was the “weakest” one of the bunch to me and it was fine, just needs more actual watermelon taste to it imo. Blueberry Pomegranate was probably my second favorite and is pretty fruity-tasting for a Kickstart.

Midnight Grape isn’t bad but it still tastes slightly “off” to me, in that energy drink kinda way. My fav was probably Blood Orange because it seemingly went down the smoothest of the 4 new flavors and to me it had the strongest “drink” flavor without really tasting like some type of energy drink.

Overall I would rank them Blood Orange > Blueberry Pomegranate > Midnight Grape > Watermelon, but I would say all 4 are better than any of the previous offerings.
