FAST FOOD NEWS: Papa John’s Pan Pizza

Papa John s Pan Pizza

Papa John’s is now offering Pan Pizzas with a thick and crunchy crust, much like the pan crust you’d find at Pizza Hut and Domino’s.

According to Papa John’s, the chain has been working on their Pan Pizza for a year and a half. The crust features seven simple ingredients: flour, extra virgin olive oil, cold-filtered water, sugar, salt, yeast, and oil. It’s made fresh and has no artificial preservatives.

For a limited time, Papa John’s is offering the new Pan Pizza with three topping for only $10 in a sleek, new box with a black exterior and full-color top that was specifically designed for the new pizza.

If you’ve tried the new crust, let us know how it compares with the competition in the comments.

    1. Disregard, you just have to go through the promo on the main page otherwise you do not get the price.

  1. Just tried it… unfortunately. Soggy, no crisp crust, clumpy cheese. Nicest thing about it was the box!

      1. Good to know, I was hoping ours was a fluke. Oh well… sticking to Pizza Hut for my pan fix!

  2. Thanks for the warnings–had been tempted by it, but got a good Domino’s Brooklyn thin crust ‘za last night instead (and saving a heck of a lot of calories) . . . .

  3. Did not like …returned for original crust. It had a yeasty smell, and just did not taste good. Pizza hut has the best pan crust.

  4. I liked it better than their regular pizza, but it was nothing to write home about. Still prefer Domino’s or Pizza Hut for pan pizza. Heck, Little Caesar’s deep dish is better, IMHO.

  5. Tasted more doughy than regular papa pizza but it look and was just like regular papa johns. Very undercooked and not worth the 13 bucks I spent. Just can’t beat pizza Hut pan. It is NOTHING like pan pizza.

  6. If I want pizza and don’t mind waiting, there’s some real pizza places that make pan pizza, but it may take up to an hour to cook.

If I want something faster, my first choice might be Little Caesars or Pizza Hut. I like Pizza Hut’s sauce a lot, but Little Caesars uses a blend of mozz and muenster, so it’s a close call. In second place I might put Domino’s and in third would come Papa Johns. Domino’s crust was a little crispier.
