  1. Lots of interesting stuff – I would be interested in trying the spaghetti pie, southwestern style chicken & pasta, and the sweet & sour chicken. The prices look pretty good, not sure if they’re the same where I’m at (Denver) and there aren’t any Wal Marts close to me, but next time I drive by one I may stop in and try some of these.

  2. tried the shepards pie last night and it was a let down, all the grease seemed to rise to the top and the potatoes had a consistency of undercooked instant mashed potatoes the meaty bottom layer had an ok taste a lot like a brunswick stew/vegetable beef soup/beef stew type taste, it was ok the finished product after cooking looked pretty sloppy and once I dug into it it looked like pure slop but I ate it, it was ok, tonight I’m trying the spaghetti pie maybe it will hold together a bit better

  3. did the spaghetti pie last night and it was very very dry and bland, so far I look for this one to be the first to be pulled from the shelf, maybe if you poured a jar of ragu on top of it would help but it still wouldn’t penetrate through the tight density of the angel hair noodles that lies beneath, have you ever dumped out a pot of noodles the next day or two and noticed how they all congeal together forming a giant noodle paddy with all that noodle gel which is great because it makes the pot clean up a breeze, anyway that’s the way the noodles are but without the juiciness of the gel just really dry. next time I have some noodles that I put in the fridge overnight and get that patty formation I may try that and pour some ragu over it see what it’s about because it was an interesting concept, I really don’t think you can achieve that in a frozen food though. tonight I’m trying the chili pie so far from the pan to the oven it looks a bit more promising than the spaghetti pie but that’s what I thought when doing the shepards pie too, we’ll see

  4. Coming from someone that LOVES the Stouffer’s vegetable lasagna, the Great Value version is a huge let down. It was topped with the bare minimum of cheese (any cheese you did get was tough and rubbery) and the sauce had a weird chalky consistency. Something about corn in lasagna throws me off too. I’d say pass on this one!

  5. Tried the Sweet and Sour Chicken today for lunch. Not great, but not bad, either – just nothing special. One piece of breaded chicken was rock-hard, the rest were tender. Sauce was kinda sweet, but not overly so, yet I found it a bit bland. The veggies cooked up fine, as did the rice.

  6. so I have finally tried them all and the Chili pie is a hit! I eat this stuff once a week now, the cornbread topping is sweet and melds perfectly with the homestyle chili, It taste pretty much like homemade chili and not that Hormel chili from a can, it’s pretty good and probably the best in the great value frozen food entree line, I highly recommend it for a quick 1 hour oven bake time but watch it, the first one I tried I overcooked it using the cooking directions, the breading got brown and tough yet still edible and tasty

  7. the tater tot ham and cheese bake was way too cheesy and using tater tots as a topping? come on, some things you just don’t do. kids would probably love it though

  8. Purchased the baked potato soup and the broccoli cheese soup. Both were wonderful and well worth the price. Certainly better than the Panera soups. Wish the packaging was easier to work with. Will continue to purchase these products.

  9. I didn’t realize this wouldn’t be microwavable. They’re in a microwavable container but there is no microwave instructions

    1. You have to be careful some have microwave instructions some do not. I noticed the first time and got the Lasagna it was fine a bit.. well very bland but a dash of salt would have helped. I went in the next time and picked up the Turkey and stuffing I believe it was called again Bland stuffing tasted like stuffing needed salt. Both Microwaved.

I have the shepherds pie but it does not have microwave directions and my stove is on the blink so it will probably sit in my freezer for 2 years and then get tossed.

  10. The pot roast is a great way of tricking someone into eating less meat. There was harday any in it and protein is more important for me than tons of carbs. Not impressed but just had to try it…….eeeewwwww.

  11. We tried the burrito bake and the chili bake so far. Both were really good. That chili bake was AMAZING! If you like chili with green peppers and you love sweet cornbread, then THIS is a must try. I am seriously in love with this. Half of my family likes green peppers and the other half does not. So the next time I make homemade chili, I am buying this for those of us who like it.

  12. We’ve tried 3 different ones and each one we like. The stuffed shells are fabulous! They taste better than any other brand and prefer them over any other stuffed shells or lasagna. Dare I say they compare to a restaurant! The broccoli and cheese soup is also very good and is even better than Panera! The baked potato soup is yummy too.

  13. The Stacked burrito is awesome, but it’s WALMART when you find something you like, they never have it. Yes, I tried others, but not as good as the stacked burrito.
