  1. WD-40 stands for Water Displacer 40, as the previous 39 attempts didn’t work as desired. Heinz 57 stands for…Heinz. The number is meaningless. It first appeared in ads saying they sold 57 varieties of pickles (in fact, they were already over 60 at the time they rolled that slogan out). However, the number _does_ have a meaning now. On the glass bottles found in restaraints, the number 57 appears in a ring around the neck of the bottle. Tapping the bottle on one of those numbers repeatedly is supposed to get the ketchup flowing faster.

    So maybe there’s meaning behind the “64”, and maybe it’s just a marketing gimmick.
