FAST FOOD NEWS: Krispy Kreme Easy as Pie Doughnut Collection

News Krispy Kreme Easy as Pie Doughnut Collection

This month, Krispy Kreme is offering its new Easy as Pie Doughnut Collection. According to the chain, it “doughnutizes” some of America’s favorite pie varieties for those who can’t wait for Thanksgiving.

With a line like that, you’d expect pumpkin pie, the quintessential Thanksgiving pie, would be part of the collection. It is not. Instead, the flavors are Dutch Apple Pie, Chocolate Kreme Pie, and Cherry Pie.

Dutch Apple Pie: It features a doughnut with apple pie filling, dipped in caramel icing, topped in streusel topping and hand?decorated with an icing lattice. It has 350 calories, 16 grams of fat, 7 grams of saturated fat, 190 milligrams of sodium, 48 grams of carbohydrates, 1 gram of fiber, 26 grams of sugar, and 4 grams of protein.

Chocolate Kreme Pie: This doughnut is filled with chocolate Kreme, dipped in chocolate icing, topped with a dollop of Kreme, and finished with mini-chocolate chips. It has 360 calories, 19 grams of fat, 9 grams of saturated fat, 150 milligrams of sodium, 44 grams of carbohydrates, 1 gram of fiber, 24 grams of sugar, and 4 grams of protein.

Cherry Pie: It’s brightly colored doughnut topped with pie crust crumbles and a cherry filling. It’s hand-decorated with an icing lattice. It has 300 calories, 16 grams of fat, 7 grams of saturated fat, 150 milligrams of sodium, 35 grams of carbohydrates, less than 1 gram of fiber, 15 grams of sugar, and 4 grams of protein.

The Easy as Pie Doughnut Collection is available now through Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28 at participating locations across the U.S.

  1. I’ve tried 2 of the 3. Be aware that the cherry one is not FILLED with cherry filling, it’s simply on top. The one I had was the second-to-last one in the case and sadly rather stale (this is not terribly unusual for my local Krispy Kreme, unfortunately). Had it been fresh, it’d be a 6 out of 10, but as it was I’d give it a 4.

The apple one was FILLED with apple, drizzled and crunchy and cinnamony. Very soft and fresh, which made me happy! However there was a slightly odd bitter taste present that I wasn’t quite sure about. Otherwise a very nice donut, 7 out of 10.

  2. I couldn’t locate my closest KK to save my life, but that apple one looks great. Cherry would be wonderful if it were filled rather than topped.
