ANNOUNCEMENT: The Impulsive Buy’s 2019 Season of Giving

Welcome to The Impulsive Buy’s 2019 Season of Giving!

(I’ll pause here to let you all celebrate)

Now the bad news.

In previous years, we did multiple prize drawings for things like gift cards and mystery boxes. This year, we’re giving away ONE large mystery box to a lucky Impulsive Buy reader. What’s in the mystery box? Well, it wouldn’t be a mystery if I told you.

But I will say this, a number of brands have sent me free samples and swag over the past year, so those are some of the items you’ll find in the mystery box. I also have included extras of products I purchased for review.

Among those extras is a product that made my taste buds hate the rest of me for a few days. But I didn’t write a review about it because it’s not available in stores. Hopefully, it doesn’t come out in stores. What is it? You’ll have to win this box to find out.

So how can you win this mystery box?

RULES:

To enter this prize drawing for this Mystery Box, leave a comment with THIS post that answers the following question:

Out of all the new food products that came out in 2019, what were your favorites?

Don’t forget to fill out the email field because we’ll be emailing the randomly selected winner for his or her mailing address.

We will stop accepting entries on December 31, 2019 at 9:00 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time. Only one comment allowed per person, and it’s only open to U.S. residents 18 years old or older.

Just a note: If you post a comment and it doesn’t show up, it ended up in our comment spam folder for some strange reason. There’s no need to attempt to post another comment. I’ll be pulling those out of the comment spam vortex regularly.

Good luck!

FINE PRINT: The Impulsive Buy promises your email address will not be used to send you emails about how you owe us $5.99 via PayPal or else your account will be limited. The Impulsive Buy also promises your mailing address will not be used to send you the tears of a unicorn contained in a crystal bottle that was blown using the fiery breath of a dragon. Bribes will not be accepted. The Impulsive Buy will not be responsible for lost mail or damaged mail.

    1. Out of all the new food products that came out in 2019, what were your favorites?

Limited edition Oreos and how they compared to the past

    2. I loved the cinnamon kit kats. So good! And I love the cinnamon bun spread at trader Joe’s. I hope they keep making it!

    1. My favorite new products of 2019 include Cinnamon Kit Kats, Twix Triple Chocolate ice cream bars, Snickers Dark ice cream bars. Ben & Jerry’s Justice Remixed, and Chocolate Lovers Reeses. What a fantastic year of fun and tasty snacks we’ve had!

    2. I loved the baked orange cheese too! I can see how some people would find it weird, but I couldn’t get enough of it.

  1. Reese’s Thins, because they save me the time and trouble of squashing a package of regular Reese’s cups in my grocery bag.

    1. Peanut Butter Chex, PB Lovers Reese’s PB Cups, Ben and Jerry’s PB Cookie Dough Bites…it was a great year for peanut butter….

I also liked the KFC Cheetos sandwich

  2. Man, lots of good choices, but I think I’ll go with the Trader Joe’s Cinnamon bun spread.

    1. Oh man, I like Reese’s Thins, Fillows Cinnamon Roll cereal, Coca-Cola Cinnamon.
If I had a better memory, I’m sure I could name more.

  3. For me it was the Dr Pepper Dark Blue, right next to when Impossible Foods PLANTED their retail product in the local Wegman’s.

  4. I actually loved the Del Monte bubble fruit cups that came out, Starbucks’ Dragon Drink, Chick-Fil-A’s Frosted Key Lime drink, All the new Starbucks bottled frappuccino drinks that came out, and I’m sure a ton of other things, but those were fresh in my mind!

  5. I liked the Honey Brunches of Oats Chicken & Waffles and Maple Bacon Donuts cereals just for being unique and interesting. The Stroopwaffle McFlurry was a pleasant surprise as well. As for my absolute favorite this year the Popeye’s chicken sandwich took the prize in my book.

  6. There were so many yummy things. I like the Mcdonalds donut sticks and the Duncan Hines Gooey Cookie things.

  7. It won’t win me anything, but I’m going to say my favorite item is the fact that companies have even bothered tossing out all the weird and wonderful (and some not so much) things that they do. It’s just a pleasure to hear about/see/randomly find/hopefully try all the goods. Here’s hoping companies keep things odd!

  8. I keep up with a lot of cereal-based trends, and I think that the massive variety of new Cheerios has left the biggest mark on me. Blueberry, Maple, and Toasted Coconut have all been top-notch and raised the bar in general.

  9. Popeyes chicken sandwich, Arby’s bourbon BBQ barrel turkey stack, Panda Express Szechuan chicken tenders

  10. The Mint and Dark Chocolate Kit Kat Duos are my winning pick!

I was super excited for the Cookies and Cream Twix but they were a bit disappointing. Not nearly as good as they were in the 90s.

  11. My favourite was the Walmart Mystery Flavoured Cake! I love that radioactive blue colour lol.

  12. Favorite new items? Hmmm. Trader Joe’s elote corn chips. I’m a health nut and not much of a snacker, and normally request the aid of my family to help me finish a bag of anything I open. Every bag of those darn chips I’ve gotten, I have finished on my own. I specifically requested NOT to get those in my stocking this year or I would eat them all once again.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros and Chocolate Toast Crunch. Weren’t those introduced this year? I love those, too.

  13. So many good ones! Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, Hazelnut M&M’s, Kit Kat DUOS Mint + Dark Chocolate, & Reese’s Peanut Butter Lovers were among my faves!

  14. Arby’s bourbon BBQ barrel stack and burger king grilled chicken parmesan, also wingstop ancho honey pepper wings

  15. The new Starbuck’s Cream Cold Brews (both the Pumpkin Spice and the Irish Cream flavors are amazing). I also loved Trader Joe’s Everything Bagel Yogurt Dip.

  16. The new snickerdoodle McFlurry and Popeyes chicken sandwich were both standouts for me this year!

  17. Favorites for 2019 are the Burger King Impossible Whopper and the Mountain Dew VooDoo and Maui Burst flavors. Happy New Year everyone!

  18. I like the Realgood product lines. I live in a small town, so most anything that is new is exciting.

  19. Ah jeez I’m really excited for this Snickerdoodle oatmeal at Walmart. But I guess I should stick to things I’ve had?

Cinnamon holiday Kit Kats? Those were exciting.

The maple cream oreos were addictive, and not in a good way.

    I’ll go with kit Kats.

  20. I’m pretty picky about my fast food, so most products that come out underwhelm me, or worse. But I sorta dug the S’mores shake from Arby’s. Could have been tweaked to be even better, but as it was I went back for a second, which I rarely do. McDonald’s was a bit of a stinker for me this year. Everything they came out with was disappointing or overpriced or both. I also had the Dairy queen chicken and waffles basket. Interesting and enjoyable flavors individually, but not something that was better in combination, as far as I was concerned. Other than that I live in a pretty isolated area and don’t get to try all the new stuff from BK, KFC, and others.

  21. I’m a sucker for anything Dairy Queen, so I’m going to go with the snickerdoodle cookie dough blizzard!

  22. My favorite product was the cauliflower gnocchi from green giant!! I’m allergic to almost everything and that makes making meals so much easier 🙂

  23. My favorite was the Hershey’s lava cake kisses that came out around Valentine’s. They were awesome and the actual lava cake recipe on the back of the bag was eeeeeeven better!

  24. The Arby’s Meatoberfest Beer Cheese Triple Stack was pretty good. The Taco Bell Toasted Cheddar Chalupa was a nice addition to the line-up. Subway’s Pit Smoked BBQ was a big miss, as well as McDonald’s “spicy” (ha) BBQ chicken fingers.

  25. I’m lactose intolerant, and I’m pretty delighted with all the new non-dairy ice creams that have been coming out. So Delicious has one called Peachy Maple Pecan that’s now a staple in my freezer!
Now if everyone could just make some with lactose-free dairy based ice cream instead of just plant-based ones…

  26. I’m not sure if this was the first year they had them, but the Gingerbread glazed donuts from Krispy Kreme were amazing, expecially the cheesecake filled one.

    1. I like the new Hershey’s white chocolate with almonds, chik-fil-a’s new mac and cheese, and the return of Wendy’s spicy nuggs!!!

  27. still digging the mcdonald’s new bbq sandwich, and enjoyed seeing the waves of unicorn and mermaid products that companies tried to ride. lol. seemed like the were all scrambling to catch onto something that wasn’t even there in the first place. pretty packaging can’t make up for ok quality and minimal effort.
also, i’m hungry – send snacks!

  28. Out of all the new food products that came out in 2019, what were your favorites?

I’ll do fast food, drinks, and snacks all separately.

Fast food: Taco Bell’s Reaper Ranch Double Stack Tacos. Crunchy and soft filled with beef, cheese, and the amazing reaper ranch sauce for $1 (not a fan of Taco Bell lettuce) .

Drinks: Mountain Dew Voodoo Mystery Flavor. It was a handful of carbonated liquid skittles which is pretty damn tasty.

Snacks: This might be cheating since it’s not technically a new product, but there were bags of all blue raspberry sour patch kids which is my favorite flavor and put me into several diabetic comas. Worth it.

    1. I’d say the Mountain Dew Merry Mash-Up! I don’t usually drink Mountain Dew, but this flavor is delicious!

  29. Ben and Jerry’s sugar cookie core ice cream, Johnny Pops pumpkin popsicles, Popeyes chicken sandwich

    1. I really enjoyed the Raspberry Creme Kitkats that just came out, but the Hershey’s with reese’s pieces was my favorite this year.

  30. Among my favorites were the Reese’s Cups Chocolate Lovers (because it tastes how I remember the original Reese’s used to taste which I’m sure they changed the recipe) and the Cheezit Snapped. Some fast foods I enjoyed this year were Chick-fil-A’s Macaroni & Cheese, Zaxby’s recent Smokehouse Cheddar BBQ sandwich and Taco Bell’s Toasted Cheddar Chalupa. If I had to pick my top choice of this year, I’d say the Honey Crunch Chicken Sandwich from Ruby Tuesday is the winner. It was way bigger than I expected, with lots of toppings and filled me up for the evening.

  31. My favorite stuff of 2019:
    Ben and Jerry Pucker Up
    Starbucks Irish cream cold brew
    Peppermint Oreos

And as always this wonderful site providing news about stuff worth keeping in mind to spot in the area and try if it’s your kind of vibe.

  32. Best New Food Products of ’19…c’mon, this is TOO easy…

    Haagen-Dazs Spirits Collection Ice Cream
    a) Irish Cream Brownie
    b) Bourbon Vanilla Bean Truffle
    c) Rum Tres Leches
    d) Stout Chocolate Pretzel Crunch

  33. was the Hostess Honey Bun cereal from this year? If I get it wrong can I still win? I’m not good with remembering dates. But I like that cereal.

  34. Trying to remember what new ive had this year! Popeyes Spicy Chicken Sandwich is tastyyy! Didnt have many new fast food items in 2019. Happy Holidays to Impulsive Buy!

  35. My favorite new products of 2019 include the Reese’s Peanut Butter Lover Cups (and its Blizzard version at Dairy Queen), the Sour Patch Kids Blizzard, Cinnamon Roll Fillows Cereal, and the Wendy’s Birthday Cake Cookies Sundae 🙂 As a vegetarian, I also appreciate how more places have started using Impossible and Beyond Foods in their restaurants/chains. It is so nice to see the change. Thank you for hosting this giveaway.

  36. hmmm, kit kat duos! and i’ve been really excited about that walmart pretzel crust cheese pizza but I still havent been able to find it 🙁

  37. Thanks for offering the giveaway! I am going to go with the Kit Kat DUOS Mint + Dark Chocolate! it is the product I keep buying!

  38. The “new” product that was really a re-release of an old product from my childhood teen years: the Retro Nacho Cheese Doritos with the old, classic logo. It was like a trip back in time. Of course, I ate them like I was still in my childhood/teen years, so I’m kind of glad they were so limited. But that one bag was Worth It.

  39. Lays grilled cheese and tomato soup potato chips! They taste more like pizza to me, but that’s not a complaint.

  40. I’m all about the Popeyes chicken sandwich—and I didn’t even have to wait in a long line or fight anyone to get it. In the retro category, I’m glad Wendy’s brought back spicy nuggets. And in keeping with the theme, I’m a big fan of KFC chicken and waffles. Maybe I eat too much fast food.

  41. The Popeye’s chicken sandwich. I know we heard way too much about it and people froth at the mouth just to get one, but it was literally the best thing I ate from a fast food place this entire year, and I went on a roadtrip across the US trying out all kinds of food. Just absolutely mindblowing that they could make such a juicy, flavorful sandwich as a fast food place. The fact that they deal in cajun spices just seals the deal. I believe I was in a test market, because when I told my friend from Seattle “go get one, NOW” he responded that they didn’t have it yet at his location until 2 weeks later. I was so lucky to get one before they got super hyped up. Don’t live so close to a Popeye’s now, and I haven’t tried it “post-shortage”, but maybe I should.

  42. I’ve really enjoyed lots of the new frozen vegetable product varieties, such as riced cauliflower, riced butternut squash, riced kohlrabi (I never had kohlrabi before that purchase and it turns out, I love it!), plus the frozen zoodles, frozen butternut squash noodles and others. Also, I really enjoyed oat milk and now its all over; pretty much every nondairy milk brand offers it – Silk, Califia Farms, etc, and I’ve been enjoying it!

  43. I haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but Trader Joe’s’ chocolate gnocchi really intrigues me . . . .

  44. Lay’s grilled cheese and tomato soup potato chips …. I really want to taste the, although I have yet to find them in a store. I have been searching for them in PA, VA, DC, MD, WV, NY and NJ with no luck. Happy Holidays!

  45. Sweet Cinnamon Kit Kats! Number one, they’re amazing. Number two – I absolutely love Japanese Kit Kats and how they get all these different flavors. I’m thrilled to see something (sort of) similar finally happening here in the states. Looking forward to trying the new raspberry ones but the sweet cinnamon ones are fab!

  46. This year has been a blur and I’ve tried so many new things. I can’t even think of my favorite.

Thank you Marvo and the Impulsive Buy for always letting us know of the new stuff to try and which ones to avoid! Happy New Year!

  47. I think my favorite is probably the new Kit Kat Raspberry that just barely came out. I have long been a fan of Japanese Kit Kats for the variety of flavors, and can only hope that more of those flavors come to the USA.

  48. Taco Bell Chicken Enchilada burrito. Sadly they were only available for 2 weeks. When I went back for more, they were already gone . Also Milky Way Salted Caramel bars were da bomb!

    1. The mint kit kat that just came out. The cloud macchiato from starbucks. The popeyes spicy chicken sandwich. I really loved that kfc chicken sandwich with the cheetos on it.

  49. My favorite types of posts involve the ones that are normally either from Marshall’s which goes into TJMAXX. Or the cereals coming out allowing my head to tilt in the “who thought of this?” area.

  50. I’d say the Mountain Dew Merry Mash-Up! I don’t usually drink Mountain Dew, but this flavor is delicious!

  51. I love the new plant based options at different restaurant chains…it’s becoming easier to enjoy food and help the planet 🙂

  52. Easily the KitKat Duos Mint and the Toasted Cheddar Chalupa. Also, Target released these Maple Truffle Cookies during Autumn. I bought 3 boxes, they’re that good.

  53. I actually like the Eggo cereal. Brings back my childhood. And the gingerbread sandwich cookies (Great Value/Walmart brand). And the maple creme oreos…obviously, I have a sweet tooth.

  54. Surprised me-but the Cinnamon Kit Kats! Cinnamon was perfect to complement the rest of the chocolate. I bought out CVS yesterday in their after Christmas sale. 😉

  55. My favorite was almond breeze banana almond milk. It has no added sugar and a half a banana in every glass! I’m sure the monkeys would indeed go bananas.

  56. The Oats & Honey Cheerios Crunch is the best new cereal. And the Cookies & Cream Twix are pretty good.

  57. Somewhat recent, but I was a really big fan of the Vanilla YooHoo. It’s really really good if you’re a fan of YooHoo.

  58. Unicorn anything…the Unicorn Cupcakes come to mind, as well as Walmart’s line of Unicorn items in their bakery.

  59. Cinnamon Coke
    Ben and Jerry’s Pucker Upper
    CVS stuffing flavored almonds
    Snickerdoodle Mc Flurry
    Baja Blast Zero

  60. Hands down, it’s been Coca-Cola Cinnamon. Such a versatile beverage that both mixes well and goes well with almost anything.

  61. Walmart’s bright blue mystery bundt cake. I don’t even want to think of the sheer number of those sugar bombs I ate…

  62. disappointed once again that its USA only. you show Canadian stuff and review Canadian products, Canada should be included.

  63. It’s cliche, but the Popeyes chicken sandwich was really good. Honorable mention to the Arby’s petite filet sandwich.

  64. Dunkin Peeps Iced Coffee, Kit Kat dark chocolate & mint duos, Popeye’s Chicken sandwhich, pineapple Pepsi

    1. Favorite 2019 items.
      1. DQs peppermint hot cocoa blizzard! Yummm!
      2. Cinnamon Coke!
      3. Mint chocolate Kit Kats

  65. I really liked the McDonald’s world tour. The burger and stroopwafel mcflurry really made my summer.

  66. Favorite: Pineapple Mt Dew
    Most Overrated: Popeyes Chicken Sandwich
    Biggest Disappointment: Cinnamon Kit Kat

Can’t wait to open my surprise box!!!

  67. Off the top of my head I would say The Impossible burger and the new mint Kit Kat bar are some of the things I have been enjoying.

    1. Favorite Fast Food Item: Stroopwafel McFlurry
Favorite Grocery Item: Peanut Butter Chex Cereal!!!

    1. Thanks to this site I discovered peach nectarine redbull which is by far my favorite redbull and fuels my redbull addiction

  68. Some of my favorite food products of 2019:
Burger King’s impossible whopper, Little Caesar’s Impossible Supreme pizza (R.I.P.), Gardein’s breakfast bowls, Amy’s vegan supreme pizza and TGI Friday’s beyond meat burger.

    1. Spooky Cocoa Crispy M&Ms were so good!! Too bad it’s only a Halloween flavor.

Thank you for always helping us find cool, new things to eat. And love your funny comments, Marvo!

  69. Hazelnut M&M’s!!! I didn’t think that I would like them at all, but they are my new favorite ice cream topping!

  70. I really enjoyed the McExtreme Bacon Burger (even though I felt ridiculous saying the name as I ordered it), and the Stroopwafel McFlurry from McDonalds. I also have been loving the Irish Cream Cold Brew from Starbucks.

  71. I really liked the fudge-covered Nutter Butters. My mom liked them too but thought they were similar to Ritz-peanut butter cracker sandwiches dunked in melted almond bark. She just didn’t *get it* like I did. Very happy that Burger King brought back their stacker sauce. Used to eat Stackers all the time when they had it several years back. I’ve wanted to try Pizza Hut’s Cheez It creation but still haven’t gotten around to it.

  72. My favorite is an easy one. Doritos Flamin’ Hot Nacho. I bought a certain amount of these chips, and even drove quite a while away (and lost a $100+ component for my motorcycle) to go to a Walmart that had it earlier.

    They’re so delicious.

  73. Enjoyed the Popeye’s Chicken Sandwich, Dark Chocolate Oreos, and Great Value Steamed Soup Dumplings
Cinnamon Coke was a lot better than expected, wish it had been available in Coke Zero as well.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  74. My favorite was the Popeyes’ chicken Sammy. I remember seeing your post and thinking dang that looks yummy then a week later all the drama happened haha. I forever will link your site with popeyes in my thoughts now. :p

  75. The cookies and cream Twix was the first Twix I’ve actually enjoyed! Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  76. My favorite was the cinnamon coke. It only came out for Christmas but it made for some amazing rum and cokes! I hope it comes back next year

  77. Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry. I always loved Sprite Cranberry but that added winter spice just made it a little more perfect.

  78. Def the gardein breakfast bowls and Nashville hot nuggs. Second up was the impossible Whopper even though I got a side-eye from the cashier every time I ordered it! ?

  79. Absolutely flipped my lid over Aldi’s Sundae Shoppe seasonal ice cream flavors this summer (was nuts about the peanut butter flavor) and was won over by the appeal of the Limited Edition Banana Frosted Flakes.

  80. I haven’t found it in the store yet, but the giant Reece’s Puffs look SO GOOD. I love the original

  81. Herr’s Hot Cocoa and Marshmallow flavored snack balls (new to me!)
    Burger King’s Impossible Whopper
    Violife cream cheese
Ben & Jerry’s non-dairy chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream

  82. My favorites were Peanut Butter Chex, KFC’s Cheeto Sandwich, and Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Sammie (I know I was in the minority with this one).

  83. My favorite product that came out this year was a tie between the Burger King Impossible Whopper (something I can eat!) and the Pizza Hut Stuffed Cheez-It Pizza. Man, that crust was delicious!

  84. I’m a big fruity/sugary person so I actually really liked Krispy Kreme Thanksgiving pie donuts- the cherry one especially! And (it’s not exactly junk food but…) the cosmic crisp apples that just got released are to die for- I’m at like a 2 a day rate with them. But also a lot of good drinks came out, the sparkling ices with the caffeine, the blueberry acai coke” and there were a few new flavors of bang energy drinks, the pina colada one was new this year (I’m like,,, 80% sure) and the candy apple crisp one just came out and is super good.

  85. My favorite was trader Joe’s sour Scandinavian swimmers. I love the originals and didn’t think making them sour would be an improvement but I should know by now to trust trader Joe and all his ideas.

  86. This was a great year for new and limited edition foods! I loved the KFC Cheetos Box with the popcorn chicken w cheetos sauce. Glad the Wendys Spicy Chicken Nuggets returned also. Was so excited to see the Cranberry Sierra Mist return this holiday season (even if it was only for a few weeks). Loved the summer fruit Krispy Kreme collection too (Pineapple / Key Lime filled). Thanks for the awesome giveaways. Happy New Year!

  87. I love all the fast food reviews. I like to read about all the hype before I decided to go out and get something. Good luck everyone!

  88. My favorite release this year was probably the Impossible Burger- thank you for everything you do! /)

  89. So many things unfortunatly, really liked the McDonalds international burger, chezit snapd, the dq summer fruit blizzard, the new filled doughnuts at krispy kreme to name a few

  90. I love gooey pie filling, so I REALLY liked the Krispy Kreme cherry donut that came out for Thanksgiving this year.

  91. The new Cheerios Oat Crunch Oats ‘N Honey just snuck in at the last second. I also loved Terra’s Herb Stuffing sweet potato chips. I think that’s new.

  92. Cookies and Cream Twix making a comeback was awesome!! Also, the mint Kit Kats are a definite favorite.

  93. Loved the Pumpkin spice Kit Kat. Chocolate covered nutter butters Pizza Hut cheez nips and the cranberry frost Ice sparkling water was awesome! Thanks for all your posts!! Happy New Year

  94. My favorites are all the alternative meat products at fast food restaurants. Beyond burger, impossible whopper, etc. I haven’t actually eaten any of them, but i’m glad for the vegetarians who can now eat a burger at a fast food joint. Not to mention the potential for future alternatives if they prove to be popular.

  95. Unfortunately not a lot stood out this year. The top winners probably being the Most Stuff Oreos and the new Jack In the Box sampler box thingy.

    1. I’m going with Little Debbie Holiday Spice Cakes and Blueberry Muffin Toasters*

*Even though they are more a returning flavor with a new name.

  96. It’s a tie between the cheddar chalupa from Taco Bell and the mystery Oreos (the churro tasting ones) for me.

    1. I’d have to say it was a tie between carrot cake Oreos and the Baskin Robbins mint chocolate chip Oreos

  97. I loved the Popeye’s chicken sandwich and it lived up to the hype for me. Well, maybe not quite that good, but the best fast food chicken sandwich for sure.

  98. The popeyes chicken sandwich. It went viral so might seem like a cop out, but I genuinely enjoyed it and I feel like nothing else made as much impact, culturally or personally.

    1. I was really impressed with the influx of dairy free low carb/low calorie ice cream such as the new flavors by Halo Top (pumpkin pie! Yesssss!) And Enlightened. I also was shocked with the quality of gardein’s vegan crab cakes!

  99. The nitro cold brew at Starbucks, only because I haven’t been able to get my hands on the Popeyes chicken sandwich yet.

  100. Talenti layers have gotten me through 2019, in particular the peanutbutter vanilla fudge. Ben and Jerry’s Glampfire Trailmix is another new favorite, along with their peanutbutter cookie dough sold in the bags.

  101. I think my favorite new food products of 2019 were the Bacon Cheddar Cheese Combos and the Dark Chocolate Oreos.

  102. I really enjoyed the Dark Chocolate Oreos, although the Most Stuf Oreos were definitely interesting…

  103. My favorite products that came out this year were Oats n’ honey Cheerios Crunch cereal and Peanut Butter Chex. I’m a big cereal fanatic and try to try all the new cereals that hit the market. These two were the best of the bunch!

  104. Hands down the Cheetos Chicken Sandwich at KFC was my favorite new item of 2019. That Cheetos sauce was MONEY.

  105. It’s a tie between the Sour Strawberry Skittles Freeze at Taco Bell and the flaming hot dill pickle Lays.

  106. Maple Oreos, plant-based products, Whole Foods orange truffles, starburst duo, and lots more. Thanks for a good year!

  107. The Popeyes sandwich was indeed worth the hype. I also loved the pumpkin cold foam cold brew from Starbucks.

  108. I have enjoyed all the new frozen riced vegetables. It makes a great, healthy alternative to pasta. Birds eye roasted garlic riced cauliflower has become a household staple. All love the mashed cauliflower! From the Ground Up crackers are also awesome.

  109. Mountain Dew Maui Burst! Normally I am meh about Mountain Dew and its variations, but I loved this one.

  110. My favorite products of ’19 include:

    1. Talenti Layers…just when you thought Talenti could not get any better, it did! Mint Fudge cookie was my favorite, but you could not go wrong with any of them!

    2. Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Tot Casserole….cauliflower in disguise as tots?! awesome! a ton of melty cheeses and cauliflower won me over

    3. Trader Joe’s Kunefe….such a fun treat from TJs! This was the first time I’ve ever heard of it and it did not disappoint

Thanks for the great reviews this year!!

  111. Hard to say what my absolute favorite was but the freshest in my mind that I loved was the Roast Turkey Pringles.
Everyone else I let try them disagreed, but I couldn’t get enough.

  112. Honestly, probably the Mystery VooDew, hope they keep that up. Was also a fan of the Sour Patch Slurpees that were released!

  113. I actually have two new products I fell in love with. The first is the mint and dark chocolate KitKat. I don’t even like KitKats like that but I’ve made sure I have one of those in the house at all times. So good. The second is the toasted cheddar chalupa. Again, I don’t eat Taco Bell like that but I was there every other day for the toasted cheddar chalupa.

  114. It’s hard to choose–some of my favorites would be Trader Joe’s Chocolate Chip Muffins, Baskin Robbins Mint Chocolate Chip Oreos, Chocolate Cupcake Pop Tarts, and Mint Dark Chocolate Kit-Kat Duos.

  115. My favorites this year are: stuffed Cheeze it pizza, Oreo mystery l, (not for the flavor just the fun) Yogurt dipped Skittles, and too many cereals to list ?

  116. I loved the Post Honey Bun cereal, Peanut Butter Chex cereal, and the Reese’s Outrageous bar.

  117. Anything banana-flavored is always my favorite, no matter the year. Banana lovers didn’t see much in 2019. However, I hope we can “peel” lots of banana surprises in 2020! My dream is always a really good banana gum!

Thanks to TIB, I always find new banana products!

  118. It’s too tough to narrow down. Meat alternatives at restaurants and fast food places as a whole was winning.

  119. the “mother” of all new food products, the Popeyes chicken sandwich. a cross between heaven on a bun and a sinfully guilty pleasure

  120. KFC’s Cheetos chicken sandwich, peanut butter Chex, & Talenti Dark Chocolate Cherry gelato layers

  121. Hi there! I have to go with two (2) simple things. Both are guilty pleasures. Pineapple Mountain Dew because it’s a party in a soda and acceptable as “Breakfast Juice” as we call it, and the Popeye’s Chicken Sandwich. Is the sandwich that good? Well sure, it’s GOOD, but did it deserve the hype, the violence, the law enforcement issues? Heck no! But, that was so entertaining that out here in California, we’d open the paper or scan our daily headlines, and my boyfriend and I would say “What’s the Chicken Drama of the day?” and we’d shake our heads and say “people are crazy” or “it can’t be THAT good can it?” And then we watched an episode of Desus & Mero with their field visit to go get a Popeyes sandwich was actually hilarious. So good food, comedy, nightly news at 11 and television parodies all wrapped into one? How can that NOT be product of the year?

  122. I love the cranberry pistachio biscotti from TJs. So good! I also love that Taco Bell is now better at being vegetarian friendly. “Make it meatless” is a style now and you don’t have to pay extra!

  123. I tried a lot of new stuff this year but the only thing I bought more than once was the Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Bun Spread, so that gets my vote for favorite new product of the year!

  124. Popeye’s Spicy Chicken Sandwich, McDonald’s Crispy Spicy BBQ Chicken Sandwich, Paqui Ghost Pepper chips.

  125. Out of all the new food products that came out this year, my favorite is the return of Twix Cookies and Creme bars!

  126. The Toasted Cheddar Chalupa from Taco Bell. Why did they have to make this limited? It was amazing!

    1. Starbucks’ pumpkin foam cold brew and Yasso Gingerbread ice cream bars. Both are so good!!

  127. After looking at the list for the year, there’s not much I tried, and even less I liked, if anything at all. I’m currently enjoying the McDonald’s Bacon BBQ Double Burger,

  128. The original, OG Popeyes Spicy Chicken Sandwich from the first release! This newer one is not the same… 🙁

  129. Boy, people really come out of the woodwork when there’s a prize! ?

My favorites this year were the Popeye’s Chicken Sandwich and the Reese’s doughnuts at Krispy Kreme!

  130. My absolute favorites were Dark Berry Dr Pepper (best DP of all time), Mountain Dew Liberty Brew (one of the best Dews ever made), the Popeye’s Spicy Chicken Sandwich (SLAPS), and Flamin’ Hot Doritos (can’t wait to try the Limon variant).

    Best of luck, everyone!

  131. I’m probably in the minority but I got weak in the knees when I first tried Chocolove Xoxox’s Passionfruit filled ruby chocolate bars (their grapefruit variety was rather icky in comparison) and….Salted Caramel Pringles. I know. What’s wrong with my weird @$$ tastebuds?!?!

  132. My favorite product of 2019 was carrot cake Oreos, but I was also glad to see kinder Bueno bars in the U.S.

  133. Surprisingly, I was a HUGE fan of two McDonalds limited offerings: the Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger and the Tomato Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich. I hope they bring them back at some point!

  134. Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, McDonald’s Stroopwaffle McFlurry, and Cinnamon Roll Fillows Cereal!

        1. Tastykake Cookie Dough Juniors. I cannot get enough of them! I hope they are around for a long time.

    1. The New Lay’s Potato Chips flavors such as the Beer & Cheese Chips and etc. I always look forward to what flavors they will come up with for the new year.

  135. Sonic’s Big Scoop Cookie Dough Sundae and McDonald’s Cinnamon Cookie Latte! Both so delicious I had to close my eyes for a minute.

  136. The cinnamon kit kats are so underrated and amazing. The oreosplosion earlier this year was good too

  137. The orange dreamsicle monster reign Energy drink is definitely one of my favorites. The oh snap spicy pickles are also up there.

  138. My favorite product that came out this year had to be the Maple Creme and Dark Chocolate Oreos. Oh my God they were amazing.

  139. I enjoyed the new Kit Kat flavors. I especially liked the dark chocolate mint kit kats and the cinnamon ones.

  140. Time for a list off the top of my head: Oreo’s latte thins and Pistachio thins. The sauce from McDonald’s Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger. Hazelnut Spread M&M’s. The return of Planters’ Cheez Balls. Almost every steambag of pasta made from veggies. Frankford’s Mallo-licious Banana shaped (and flavored) marshmallow. Dark Berry Dr Pepper.

    1. The popeyes chicken sandwich (spicy!!) Was a big one for me for sure. Also the Grand McExtreme coming to the US. I normally don’t do a lot of fast food but those are definitely guilty pleasures

  141. Snickers Pecan was the best thing, I really hope they release it in stores. Though a $2 pricepoint for a single candy bar might not sell well.

  142. Dark chocolate Oreos; Kit-Kat Duos mint & dark chocolate; Cheez-It Snap’d double cheese.

Thanks to all the Impulsive Buy reviewers – I hope 2020 brings you lots of great new products to review!

  143. Mountain Dew Maui Burst, Taco Bell’s Toasted Chalupa, and their new Electric Blue Raspberry Freeze is really good

  144. I love anything peppermint and chocolate, so mint dark chocolate Kit Kats were my favorite from this year!

  145. Favorite new “food” is the canned costco iced coffee, but I LUV this website and looking at all the new foods and packaging and pretending I’m eating each one.

  146. My favorite new product out this year has been the cookie and cream Twix. They remind me of my childhood.

  147. I very much enjoyed:

Halo Top’s Dairy-Free Pumpkin Spice Frozen Dessert
    Trader Joes Jalapeno Sauce
    Trader Joes Mushroom Umami Seasoning
    Skinny Pop Gingerbread Popcorn

  148. I love the posts about restaurants in my area (Hardees, Taco Bell, Arbys and Burger King). Numerous times I’ve shared these posts with co-workers and we go try out the new menu items for lunch!

  149. Wendy’s maple bacon chicken…the line was so long it got me a free sandwich coupon for the wait!..oreos dark chocolate and maple and sugar cookie toast crunch

  150. Surprisingly, I really like the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup Lays! The mystery (churro) Oreos were great, too.

  151. Mountain Dew Holiday Burst (pomogranate/cherry)
Trader Joe’s Strawberry Rose Jam (like Turkish Delight in a jam–delicious)
Trader Joe’s Ginger Snowball Cookies (sweet and so addictive!)
Trader Joe’s I Dream of Chocolate Cake (DIVINE!)
Tate’s Bakeshop Hot Chocolate Cookies (crisp, buttery and delicious)
Wild 4 Ginger Root Infused Maple Syrup (perfectly balanced)
    Coca Cola Cinnamon (love this)

  152. My favorite for this year was definitely the Lay’s Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup Potato Chips. It was spot on for the flavor of the real thing!

  153. I’m a big fan of the Green Giant cauliflower gnocchi. Nice to have options other than the Trader Joe’s version.

  154. My favorite new product of 2019 was Oreo’s The Most Stuf. It was the ultimate Oreo flavor and the people who said it was too much cream are not real junk food aficionados like me!

  155. I love tbe Lays potato chips that come out every year. The Game Fuel energy drinks. The beyond/impossible burgers.

  156. Kit Kat Duos, the Impossible Whopper and the Toasted Cheddar Chalupa were my best new items of the year.

  157. My very favorite thing that came out this year was the Big Stuf marshmallow with the chocolate inside of it. We don’t even do s’mores. We just ate them right out of the bag as a snack. My feelings also wouldn’t be hurt if Taco Bell brought back the baked cheddar chalupa shell. We don’t eat much fast food but we went back a couple of times for that.

  158. My favorites were Kellogg’s banana creme Frosted Flakes, Cheetos white cheddar bites and Starbucks cloud macchiato!

  159. How do I pick?! I love the Haagen Dazs Spirits Irish Cream Cookie Squares, and another vote for the Dark Chocolate Oreos (they seem to have quite a following here already).

    1. It’s hard to choose favorites, but I think Taco Bell knocked it out of the park this year with their new items. I love the new version of the Shredded Chicken Quesadilla Melt because it isn’t messy like the Mini Shredded Chicken Quesadilla was, the Naked Chicken items were really interesting, and the Reaper Ranch and Chipotle Cheddar Double Stacked Tacos are great value menu items.

  160. Favorite item was the Shredded Chicken Mini Quesadilla/Melt from Taco Bell. Great dollar item where chicken used to be more premium.

  161. Cereal cereal cereal!!! ……so many new, weird yet exciting and tasty kinds. Loved honey buns, nutter butter, donettes and I’m in love with the new trollz trix (childhood dream cereal) ??????
Can’t wait for 2020 and more fun foods to try!

  162. My favorite would have to be the Impossible Whopper. It was wild to try something that tastes so close to beef without actually being beef.

  163. My favorite isn’t a specific product but a category of products, all the cauliflower products…having a diabetic in the household makes it so they can get a low-carb alternative that altho not exact is similar enough to satisfy the craving without ending up with skyrocketing sugars later.

And I don’t know if it’s new but new to me, Walmart brand Peppermint Mocha coffee. Way cheaper than Starbucks lol.

  164. I really, really, really enjoy Cotton Candy Crunch cereal. Second place probably goes to Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros cereal.

  165. I looooved the spicy chicken sandwich from Popeyes and I also really enjoyed the Cheetos popcorn chicken from KFC!

  166. My absolute favorite new snack(s) has been the new junk food cereals!! I’ve loved them all!! Happy holidays!!

  167. My vote goes to those Maple-creme Oreos. I think they were the only limited edition item that I was motivated to stock up on.

  168. Sugar cookie crunch cereals return and the salted caramel Shannon light and fit yogurt were my favorites

  169. I tried the Impossible Whopper and really was a fan of it. Couldn’t tell any difference from the real thing.

  170. Like a lot of other people, I liked the Popeye’s chicken sandwich but I also like th ecinnamon kit kats and the Maple Oreos

  171. Even though it wasn’t necessarily “new” I was over the moon that the OG sugar cookie toast crunch made a comeback! Also the pop tart bites were glorious
