With all of these “Extra Long” sandwiches Burger King has been pushing, I wonder if the fast food chain is bragging or overcompensating for something.<\/p>\n

Anyhoo, the fast food chain\u2019s latest limited time only menu item to use their hoagie bun is their Extra Long Jalape\u00f1o Cheeseburger. It features two flame-grilled 100 percent beef patties, mayo, ketchup, two slices of American cheese, iceberg lettuce, white onion slices, and marinated jalape\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Marinated jalape\u00f1os? Sounds fancy.<\/p>\n

Well, after pulling out one of the jalape\u00f1o slices from my burger and trying it, I have to say it is fancy. Marinated jalape\u00f1os is a fancy name for pickled jalape\u00f1os because they taste and crunch exactly like them.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve tried all the previous Extra Long sandwiches, you\u2019ve probably realized that this is basically their Extra Long Cheeseburger with jalape\u00f1os on it. If you\u2019ve figured that out, congratulations my flame-grilled loving friend.<\/p>\n

\"Burger<\/a><\/p>\n

I counted six jalape\u00f1o slices on my cheeseburger. It\u2019s enough to get a little jalape\u00f1o in almost every bite, but it\u2019s not enough to add any significant heat thanks to the other parts of the burger. Eating the jalape\u00f1os separately brings a spiciness to my mouth that <\/a>Burger King\u2019s Fiery Chicken Fries could only dream of. But when eating the sandwich whole, the lettuce, ketchup, onions, and mayo are the firefighters that extinguish the jalape\u00f1os\u2019 flames. Someone should totally make a sexy calendar with them.<\/p>\n

While the peppers don\u2019t bring the spicy, they do bring a flavor that\u2019s familiar if you\u2019ve had marinated\u2026I mean, pickled jalape\u00f1os before. Their salty and peppery flavor is the most dominant in the burger. While the other toppings are strong enough to douse the jalape\u00f1os\u2019 spiciness, they can\u2019t hold a candle to the peppers\u2019 flavor. All I could taste were the beef patties and their unique Burger King flavor, the American cheese, and the jalape\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

\"Burger<\/a><\/p>\n

Burger King\u2019s Extra Long Jalape\u00f1o Cheeseburger is okay and I would probably buy it again. But I do wish it was spicy enough to make me sweat a little. Also, Burger King could\u2019ve gotten a little creative with it. Instead of the ketchup and mayo, they could\u2019ve brought back their Angry Sauce (which is probably in the same storage facility as The King and his scary gigantic head) and used it to give the burger a unique flavor.<\/p>\n
