Trader Joe’s might as well be a candy store.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m sure their \u201creal\u201d food and produce are top quality, but I\u2019ll never know. I\u2019ve never walked out of there with anything other than a snack bounty.\u00a0Take my last visit for example \u2013 chips, peanut butter cups, cookies, burritos, and Pumpkin Pie Spiced Cookie Butter.<\/p>\n

Wait, what? Pumpkin Pie Spice Cookie Butter?\u00a0What kind of sorcery is this?<\/p>\n

I like pie!\u00a0I like cookies!\u00a0I like butter! Pumpkin and I can go either way, but ’tis the season.\u00a0If anything is going to ruin my excitement for this, it\u2019s the pumpkin.<\/p>\n

Well, it looks like canned pumpkin pie filling.\u00a0It smells just like pumpkin pie filling.\u00a0It tastes…better than pumpkin pie filling?!<\/p>\n

Are you familiar with the original Trader Joe’s Speculoos Cookie Butter? If not, it\u2019s a delicious gingerbread-like spread with little bits of cookie crunch. It\u2019s magic in a jar.\u00a0Think of a slice of pumpkin pie with a dollop of that<\/i> instead of Cool Whip.\u00a0That\u2019s what this tastes like.\u00a0Trust me, it\u2019s incredible.<\/p>\n

\"Trader<\/a><\/p>\n

This stuff tastes like Grandma baked a pumpkin pie with a buttery gingerbread crust, and then pureed it. Again, just trust me.<\/p>\n

To me, pumpkin pie is one of those desserts that gets steadily worse with each bite.\u00a0The first bite is delicious, especially in contrast to the savory Thanksgiving feast that preceded it.\u00a0The next bite…slightly less.\u00a0The bite after that makes me realize I still have half the slice to go, and from that point forward I basically have to force myself to finish. (Same goes for pecan pie if I\u2019m being honest.)<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve also always found the texture of pumpkin pie filling to be slightly off-putting, almost like an off pudding<\/i>, if you will.\u00a0Stop booing and let me finish.\u00a0I also feel like the filling is too sweet most of the time.\u00a0Not with this cookie butter. This is perfectly sweet without being overwhelming.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s funny, when I picked this off the shelf, I wondered what I\u2019d even spread it on.\u00a0When I got home and popped it open I realized it didn\u2019t even need to be paired with anything.\u00a0There\u2019s no need for a middle man, it\u2019s great on its own.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Still, I had to do my due diligence for the people. In two days, I\u2019ve already had this on toast, a bagel, an apple, and pretzel sticks.\u00a0Here\u2019s a shocker, it was great on all of them.\u00a0Outside of mixing it with peanut butter, I can\u2019t think of many snacks this wouldn\u2019t mesh with.\u00a0I\u2019d probably spread this on chicken.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m having a hard time thinking of any negatives.\u00a0Like regular cookie butter, I did find that I wanted to brush my teeth after eating it, as it left a gritty, pasty feeling in my mouth, but that\u2019s me grasping at straws. I really should be grasping at a spoon to finish the jar off.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Judging from the line of products TJ’s has put out with the original cookie butter, I\u2019m pumped to see what the future holds for this one.\u00a0I\u2019m hoping they eventually put out cookies, ice cream, and the jars with the chocolate swirl.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Pumpkin Pie Spice Cookie Butter is so good that I might write Trader Joe’s an email begging them to make actual pumpkin pies with this product for the Thanksgiving season.\u00a0I\u2019d replace the old standard with one of those in a split second.\u00a0<\/p>\n
