\"Hershey's<\/a><\/p>\n

As I kid I wanted nothing more than to go to Disney World. My parents had other plans and made me wait. Every time I asked about it, they said things like \u201cpatience is a virtue,\u201d \u201cyou won\u2019t appreciate it as much until you\u2019re older,\u201d and \u201cget out of our house already, freeloader.\u201d<\/p>\n

While they eventually gave in to my incessant whining, said parents dragged my brother and me to Hershey Park twice in the meantime. For that, I always used to think of it as a second-tier vacation spot. <\/p>\n

Now, I\u2019m older, wiser, nostalgic, and I have to say, Hershey Park is bar none the best theme park named after a candy I have ever been to!<\/p>\n

Hershey, Pennsylvania smelled like chocolate! They had rides that stacked up with other theme parks. There was a mascot dressed like a pack of Reese\u2019s Peanut Butter Cups! I mean, you\u2019re cool Mickey, but you\u2019re no peanut butter cup.<\/p>\n

Hershey Park was as close as I\u2019d ever get to touring Willy Wonka\u2019s factory. <\/p>\n

Out of all those memories, there was one thing that somehow always stood out \u2013 the free chocolate bar at the end of the tour. It was the freshest, most perfect Hershey\u2019s bar imaginable and for that I\u2019ve always had a soft spot for Hershey\u2019s.<\/p>\n

I could already predict what I was in for with the Hershey’s Cookie ‘n’ Mint Bar. It smelled just like an Andes after dinner mint, or Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookie. (Aka \u201cGrasshoppers,\u201d if you\u2019re a heartless heathens who refuses to help out the Girl Scouts.) Chocolate and mint may not be your favorite flavor combination, but you can\u2019t deny the smell is fantastic. Go ahead and deny it. I dare you.<\/p>\n

\"Hershey's<\/a><\/p>\n

The candy bar tastes like a Thin Mint with less cookie. I think I prefer the ratio here. They could have just called this a \u201cThinner Mint\u201d bar. The chocolate is the star of the show, instead of it being just a light coating on a cookie. The texture is exactly the same as Hershey\u2019s Cookies \u2018N\u2019 Cream bars.<\/p>\n

The chocolate taste is distinctly Hershey\u2019s. Hershey is the only chocolate I can pinpoint blindfolded. Actually, I could probably nail Cadbury too, but beyond that? I\u2019m not so sure.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the kicker — the Cookies \u2018N\u2019 Mint bar is not standard Hershey\u2019s milk chocolate, but rather mint milk chocolate. I assumed the mint would be in the cookie bits, but those are apparently just chocolate flavored. The base Hershey\u2019s chocolate itself is where the mint is. <\/p>\n

With that said, I couldn\u2019t really tell. I would have believed there were mint chocolate cookie pieces in regular Hershey\u2019s chocolate if the wrapper didn\u2019t specify.<\/p>\n

\"Hershey's<\/a><\/p>\n

So all in all, this was a success. I\u2019d easily put this on par with Hershey\u2019s Cookie \u2018N\u2019 Cream bars. I wouldn\u2019t be shocked to see Cookies \u2018N\u2019 Mint become a candy stand mainstay. Other than Junior Mints and York Peppermint Patties, there aren\u2019t that many chocolate\/mint staples available in your corner store.<\/p>\n

I also don\u2019t see why mini versions of Cookies \u2018N\u2019 Mint can\u2019t sneak into Hershey\u2019s mixed bags with the Krackel\u2019s, Mr. Goodbar\u2019s, and Hershey\u2019s Dark\u2019s of the world. <\/p>\n

I realize it\u2019s a lot to ask of that big shot Mr. Goodbar to put his ego aside and share a bag with an additional flavor, but it\u2019s time for him to accept the times.<\/p>\n

It appears Cookie \u2018N\u2019 Mint are going to be taking up permanent residence on candy racks nationwide, so no need to book that trip to Hershey Park to try one.<\/p>\n
