What is Dr Pepper Dark Berry?<\/h3>\n

Dr Pepper\u2019s 23 flavors has added another \u2013 the ominous \u201cDark Berry,\u201d which is inspired by the upcoming independent arthouse film, \u201cSpider-man: Far From Home.\u201d<\/p>\n

WARNING \u2013 This review contains SPOILERS!<\/p>\n

Relax, one guy who hasn\u2019t seen Avengers: Endgame<\/em> yet, I\u2019m just reviewing a soda.<\/p>\n

How is it?<\/h3>\n

To me, it smells like Dr Pepper with a drop of Robitussin \u2013 a mix of everyone\u2019s two favorite syrups, corn and cough.<\/p>\n

\"Dr<\/p>\n

I had a hard time even deciding if it tasted more than just a sweeter regular Dr Pepper, but the linger of the \u201cfruit\u201d additive started to take over. It was definitely \u201cberry,\u201d but which?<\/p>\n

The answer, while not in the ingredients, can be easily found online, I just wanted to guess first.<\/p>\n

I locked in on possibly blueberry…and black cherry?<\/p>\n

SPOILER ALERT \u2013 Spider-man kills Than…Relax, that one guy, I\u2019m just messing with you.<\/p>\n

The titular \u201cdark berries\u201d are blackberry, black currant, and black cherry. <\/p>\n

I hate to be swayed, but it made perfect sense. I realized it tasted like three-parts Dr Pepper mixed with one-part Cherry Coke, or like one of those old-timey Boylan\u2019s style Black Cherry sodas you always see in Jewish Delis and trendy bagel joints.<\/p>\n

So, while it\u2019s not really that \u201cfar from\u201d regular Dr Pepper\u2019s normal flavor, it\u2019s still worth a few sips.<\/p>\n

Is there anything else you need to know?<\/h3>\n

While I\u2019ve seen some Spidey characters (particularly Mysterio for obvious reasons) popping up on promotional cans, I managed to buy the lamest bottle ever. Although, there is a movie ticket deal on the label, so that\u2019s kinda cool.<\/p>\n

Conclusion:<\/h3>\n

Dark Berry is the Andrew Garfield of Dr Pepper flavor variants. It\u2019s still pretty good, but probably too saccharine, and will ultimately be forgotten. There have been superior Spider-men and Dr Peppers.<\/p>\n

I look forward to Mr. Pibb\u2019s collaboration with DC.<\/p>\n
