Edible cookie dough has been all the rage for the last couple of years, thanks to Cookie Dough Caf\u00e9 on Shark Tank. I\u2019ve tried this \u201cedible\u201d variety before, and I didn\u2019t love it. But, I have been back on the train thanks to Ben & Jerry\u2019s snackable version.<\/p>\n

So, it was almost serendipitous that Nestle Toll House launched its new Edible Cookie Dough line with two flavors: Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Monster. <\/p>\n

Of course, I started with the original flavor. It smelled like the cookie dough I remember trying to eat as a kid when my mom was mixing the \u201cnon-edible\u201d kind. I enjoyed everything about this.<\/p>\n

The chocolate chips were the perfect size, the flavor was spot-on, and the texture was just right – not too hard and not too soft even right from the refrigerator. Flavor-wise, it was very comparable to the Ben & Jerry\u2019s one but this spoon-in-\u201cpint\u201d form allowed for maximum cookie dough consumption.<\/p>\n

As for the Monster flavor, my expectations were immediately lowered when I saw the way it was sitting in the container. All I have to say is that it reminded me of the \u201cchocolate soft serve\u201d emoji. <\/p>\n

Also, I could see there was bleeding of the chocolate candy coating (or what they call mini gems in the ingredients), so that added to lack of visual appeal. On the bright side, it smelled like a tasty peanut butter cookie dough though! <\/p>\n

\"Nestle<\/p>\n

When digging in, I could immediately tell the texture was a bit different, probably from the rolled oats. It had a firmer texture, but still easily spoonable. Taste-wise, it was fantastic and again delivered true to the raw version.<\/p>\n

But, I wasn\u2019t able to eat as much of this flavor due to the richness of the peanut butter and rolled oats getting stuck in my teeth. So, I went back to eating the chocolate chip one. <\/p>\n

If you\u2019re a cookie dough fan, you won\u2019t be disappointed! And if other brands of edible cookie dough have let you down, this one won’t!<\/p>\n
