What are Ruffles Double Crunch Spicy Cheddar Jack?<\/h3>\n

Double your pleasure, double your crunch, that\u2019s the statement of the great chip, in Ruffles Double Crunch Spicy Cheddar Jack.<\/p>\n

Ok, that intro didn\u2019t work at all, but remember that fun gum jingle<\/a>?!<\/p>\n

How is it?<\/h3>\n

I\u2019m a fan of any cheese with \u201cJack\u201d in the name, whether it be Monterey, Pepper, Colby, or the titular Cheddar. If I see any of those as a menu option, it\u2019s my burger cheese of choice, so naturally I liked the flavor of these chips.<\/p>\n

I admit I don\u2019t actually know what the \u201cJack\u201d means, but the ingredients list Blue Cheese, Swiss, Parmesan, and Monterey Jack along with Cheddar and almost every powder in your spice rack.<\/p>\n

\"Ruffles<\/p>\n

They all merge into a flavor that\u2019s about 2\/3rds of the way to \u201cQueso.\u201d If I was blindfolded, I\u2019d probably throw my hands up and guess \u201cJalapeno Cheddar,\u201d so they deliver on their namesake.<\/p>\n

As for the heat, I judge all spicy snacks on the \u201cFlamin’ Hot\u201d scale, and these are just below that. There\u2019s an evenly dispersed, tolerable dry heat that smacks every inch of your mouth with the same intensity.<\/p>\n

Anything else you need to know?<\/h3>\n

I live in constant fear of cracking a tooth, so take this with a grain of salt, but I don\u2019t need my Ruffles to have double the crunch.<\/p>\n

\"Ruffles<\/p>\n

If Ruffles have ridges, these things have mountains and valleys. Who exactly was clamoring for more crunch from a Ruffle?<\/p>\n

I know these aren\u2019t the first Double Crunch Ruffle boasting \u201c2x the crunch,\u201d but they\u2019re too hard and borderline stale tasting to me. It\u2019s as if someone in the Frito-Lay factory screwed up while making Wavy Lay\u2019s and just rolled with it.<\/p>\n

If you broke down chip ridges by size, these would be a large, Wavy Lay\u2019s would be medium and Ruffles would be a small. I like normal Ruffles best.<\/p>\n

Conclusion:<\/h3>\n

I don\u2019t think Ruffles needed to go the \u201cDouble Stuf Oreo\u201d route, but if you\u2019re in the mood for a chip with a kick that won\u2019t leave you chugging Pepto, these are probably for you\u2026 and if you\u2019re adventurous and like playing Russian Roulette with your molars, these are definitely for you.<\/p>\n
