With a legacy spanning approximately 500 years\u2014give or take a few centuries\u2014one would assume that Hershey has produced more than a fair amount of limited editions in the history of its iconic chocolate bar. And that assumption, like the fact that I am prone to gross exaggeration with regard to time, would be true.<\/p>\n
While we all know\u2014and to varying degrees love\u2014 the standard deviations (Cookies ‘n\u2019 Creme, \u201cwith almonds,\u201d and Symphony), do you recall Cookies ‘n\u2019 Chocolate, Cookies \u2019n\u2019 Mint, Strawberries \u2019n\u2019 Creme, Raspberries \u2019n\u2019 Creme, or any of the Twosomes (Reese\u2019s Pieces, Whoppers, and Heath)? Me either! But if you\u2019re like me\u2014hankering for some pieces of stuff in your chocolate bar\u2014 the good folks from Pennsylvania are here for us.<\/p>\n

About this new treat, Hershey\u2019s website says, \u201cExtra creamy milk chocolate and crunchy waffle cone pieces all in one bar? Who says you can\u2019t have it all?\u201d And then 181 more words about this candy bar. Seriously. 181! It\u2019s a dessert-tation, really. I felt myself nodding off midway through.<\/p>\n
Was the candy bar enough to awaken both me AND my tastebuds? Sadly, it was not.<\/p>\n
Everyone has had a Hershey bar, so I won\u2019t spend any time describing that. It\u2019s a pretty straightforward American version of chocolate that few outside of the States can stand, and even snootier American chocolate connoisseurs find off-putting at best.<\/p>\n

So the real variable here is the pieces of waffle cone. And the verdict? They add texture, but that\u2019s about it. They seemingly do nothing in terms of taste\u2014 likely because the pieces are so small. I found myself wondering, what\u2019s the point here? I mean, waffle cones are incredible, and I like Hershey Bars. While the combination should be a win-win, there\u2019s just not enough substance here for it to be anything other than \u201cho-hum.\u201d It\u2019s a chocolate bar, which makes it consumable, but beyond that, it\u2019s pretty pointless.<\/p>\n
Maybe next time Hershey will do something a little more inventive than Chocolate \u2019n\u2019 Waffle Cone. Until then, I suppose I\u2019ll just remain Bored \u2018n\u2019 Disappointed.<\/p>\n
