Ladies and Gentleminions, Wendy\u2019s is back with another Blendy.<\/p>\n
Well, they would be if they just agreed to call it that. Yeah, it\u2019s technically called a \u201cFrosty Swirl,\u201d but I\u2019m not gonna let that little restraining order get in the way of calling it a Blendy.<\/p>\n
What are they gonna do, restrain me again? Order me around like some Minion?<\/p>\n
In the business, they call that an \u201cexpert segue.\u201d Not me though. I call it an \u201cexpert segway\u201d because I prefer the dumb-guy spelling of the word, and it\u2019s well established that I\u2019m a rebel.<\/p>\n
Know who else are rebels? The Minions. Call me Paul Blart, because I am a Segway expert!<\/p>\n

Yup, we\u2019ve got ourselves a collab between Wendy and the new film, Minions and Monsters<\/em>, and you\u2019ll never guess what flavor it is.<\/p>\n You guessed it, Bottom! No wait, the other word the Minions say, Banana!<\/p>\n As an ardent banana defender, I feel it is my duty to stick up for any and all banana-flavored snacks. I love almost all of them. \u2026 not sure I loved this one.<\/p>\n Don\u2019t get me wrong, it\u2019s vanilla ice cream with banana syrup. It\u2019s not bad, it\u2019s just not what it could\u2019ve been. As much as it pains me to admit, I don\u2019t think bananas work as a syrup.<\/p>\n I can\u2019t recall the last time I had a Vanilla Frosty, but I really just think this was ice cream. I\u2019ve broken down the consistency of the Frosty in past reviews, and this lacked that little bit of \u201cgrainy ice\u201d texture that is uniquely Frosty. It tasted good, but that was a bad start.<\/p>\n I wasn\u2019t exactly swimming in banana syrup swirl, but it was probably for the better. In isolation, it tasted okay, but it was a very highly concentrated flavor. I wouldn\u2019t say it was natural or \u201cBanana Runt\u201d artificial, but right in banana purgatory. (Sidenote: Banana Runts are amazing, stop slandering them.)<\/p>\n I didn\u2019t love the consistency here. It\u2019s essentially the same as chocolate syrup, and it was a little strange when coupled with a banana flavor. I don\u2019t know why, but thick, gooey banana syrup just doesn\u2019t hit the same.<\/p>\n There was also a sour finish to the syrup, but once I mixed it up, it tasted alright. That said, the ratio was such that the vanilla just took over completely, and it got pretty boring like the 3rd act of Despicable Me 4<\/em> \u2013 a movie I definitely saw.<\/p>\n All things considered, it\u2019s decent, and it\u2019s definitely a cute collaboration. Who doesn\u2019t like the Minions? They\u2019re still funny. Hearing one say, \u201cAllo Wendy\u201d in the commercial is comedy, but this Blendy leaned a little closer to tragedy.<\/p>\n My ultimate takeaway was – why didn\u2019t Wendy\u2019s just make a Banana Frosty?! Why are we trying to \u201cMcFlurry\u201d this? Is Wendy\u2019s corporate the eponymous Monsters? Just make a delicious, grainy iced Banana Frosty! It was right there!<\/p>\n After I had that epiphany, I realized I was more disappointed than I initially thought, and I honestly no longer saw the allure.<\/p>\n \u2026 I shoulda said \u201cappeal.\u201d It was right there!<\/p>\n Purchased Price:<\/strong> $2.99 Ladies and Gentleminions, Wendy\u2019s is back with another Blendy.
