My initial plan for this review was to write a parody of Danzig\u2019s seminal hit song, \u201cMother.\u201d<\/p>\n
After tasting a few of Mother\u2019s new Frosted Animal Cookies with Nerds, I realized the words didn\u2019t even need to change.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s more like, \u201coh, brother!\u201d These cookies should\u2019ve been kept in the dark for life. They should\u2019ve been hidden from the waiting world. Do you hear that, Mother?<\/p>\n
These stink worse than the zoo animals they\u2019re shaped like.<\/p>\n

On the surface iced shortbread cookies skimpily dotted with Nerds sounds like a lot of fun. I was ready to have a great time and let my inner child out, but these are an atrocity against both man and beast.<\/p>\n

The cookies are coated in a waxy substance that tastes like\u2026 maybe a light berry flavor? I have no idea. I\u2019m guessing because they\u2019re painted like a \u201cone boy, one girl Twin\u201d birth reveal. The inner shortbread cookie is red, for some reason. I guess we\u2019re cool with food dyes again, because that\u2019s basically the entire ingredient list.<\/p>\n

And don\u2019t you dare ask Mother about the flavor, because all she tells us is that they are \u201csweet and tangy.\u201d While Nerds do add a little tang to the equation, there aren\u2019t enough Nerds big or flavorful enough to stand out over the gross wax-cing.<\/p>\n
The icing literally tastes like wax, and the cookies have a bad texture too. They\u2019re too hard. I\u2019ve had frosted animal cookies in the past, probably from this brand, and I swear they weren\u2019t this terrible.<\/p>\n

As you can see I bought these during the recent heatwave. They were in the car for all of a half hour, with AC, and still melted into a massive ball of animal carnage. I guess it\u2019s a rule that all circus animals be treated poorly.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s like this massive cookie Katamari. Worst Nerds Cluster ever!<\/p>\n
If I have to highlight some positives, how about the fun classic animal shapes? I think I saw a lion, a bunny that was probably a big Nerd mascot? A camel perhaps. The fabled Chupacabra? Is that Slimer from Ghostbusters? I don\u2019t know, I couldn\u2019t really tell even before they were all just an amorphous pink and blue glob of Nerds measles.<\/p>\n
Nerds! That\u2019s a positive. We love Nerds! Well, this must be the \u201cRevenge of the Nerds\u201d I keep hearing about. Mother doesn\u2019t do them any favors, but I genuinely don\u2019t think Nerds would work as a sprinkle on even the best cookies.<\/p>\n
I genuinely don\u2019t even think kids will like these. If my mother baked these, I would have emancipated.<\/p>\n
Danzig couldn\u2019t really sum up my ultimate feelings \u2013 only one man could.<\/p>\n
