I would grind the oat pieces then add to the batter to give it some more oomph

They’re kind of one in the same…
Probably not as they’re raking in dough by adding tiny bags of cereal to the existing cupcake kits and charging more for them. People seem to love it.

Hmmm…I guess just because it’s Betty Crocker and not Duncan Hines? Seems a bit sexist to me…
