  1. Oh, now I understand what was going on the other day! I walked past a Burger King downtown (San Francisco) and they seemed to be handing out little sample cups of pepto-bismol. Must have been the red velvet shake instead. What a shame.

  2. I had this yesterday. This morning I thought I was bleeding internally until I remembered yesterday’s afternoon snack.

  3. If they actually use red velvet oreos, then props to BK. If (as expected) the red velvet version is just a classic with red food coloring, then (sad trombone.) Either way, it’s not gonna get me in a BK.

  4. A bit overkill in the Red Dye, no your intestines are not bleeding to death. You probably are not dying. I will not drink it again even though it tasted yummy.

  5. Bought this as a completely impulsive buy.
My poop has been blood red for the past day and a half…too much dye!

    1. Try drinking the shake while eating lots of black licorice that has yellow dye, which by itself will turn it an odd shade of green. See what color you get then. Don’t forget to report back.

  6. I’m sure that by now most people that are directed to this site could care less about Burger King’s new red velvet cake shake. I’m sure they have a much deeper interest and that would be the emergence of this red dye. I’m still uncertain that this wasn’t the cause of some serious dye-arrhea (pun very much intended) I contracted only a few hours after consuming one of those little red jokers. I’m with Maziah on this one, that will be my last. I can’t possibly see how that could be good for you.

  7. So I thought I was going to dye after my poo was bright red. Too much sugar and dye.

  8. The taste of the shake was okay. BUT Burger King went way overkill on the red dye , like many of the above comments I thought I was bleeding internally.

  9. Got this new little shake….. Hours later used the restroom and all I seen was red. I totally freaked out.. wouldn’t recommend this drink to anyone … It’s good but to much dye and sugar .. it’s not worth having a red stool .

  10. yall are worried about the dye in the milk shake . How about all the corn syrup and the artificial color in food yall eat daily or all the other ingredients that u cant even pronounce 🙂

  11. BLOODY DIARRHEA THE NEXT DAY…SINCE ALL OF THE COMMENTS SAID THEY HAVE THE SAME I GUESS I CAN RELAX

    I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE……

  12. I had one but not even an hour after i got it i went to the bathroom and had the poops

  13. After the first sip my teeth, tongue, lips and hands were dyed a frightening shade of blood red, I’m a little afraid based on the other comments on just what else is going to be carrying that particular shade of crimson.

  14. I couldn’t sleep tonight because I was dwelling on my red poo. Basically convincing myself I was dying.
Then I found this page. Now I can rest easy knowing I’m not the only one..
    Whew!

  15. MY 12 YEAR OLD SON HAD ONE OF THESE RED VELVET SHAKES FROM BURGER KING TODAY AND HE WOKE UP WITH EXTREME STOMACHE PAIN. HE WENT TO THE BATHROOM AND HAD TERRIBLE DIRRHEA THE TOLIET WAS FILLED WITH WHAT I THOUGHT WAS BLOOD. AFTER AN EMERGENCY VISIT AND ALMOST $1,000 BILL IM TOLD IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE DYE IN THIS SUPPOSED TO BE “MILK SHAKE”
    IM CONTACTING MY ATTORNEY.

  16. I just wanted something sweet today and thought I would try this shake. Delicious! Big chunks of oreo getting stuck in the straw were a bit of a hassle, though. Then tonight I experienced the digestive aftermath and bore witness to a toilet bowl full of red. After seeing how all that red dye colored the inside of my mouth, I kinda figured that was the culprit. Though I loved the flavor, the crimson crap is a bit of a deal-breaker. Won’t try again and wouldn’t recommend.

  17. I had this amazingly delicious shake last night and I thought: ” Oreo red velvet shake at 2 am what the worst that could happen?”. Until the next morning when I pooped red for 45 minutes. I thought I was going to die. luckily it was the dye not internal bleeding. Great shake but not worth the shock of pooping red.

  18. I wish I would have read these comments a little earlier. It is now almost 930 and I drank this at almost 7. My stomach feels as though I am getting stabbed and my poop has been blood red nonstop! Seriously disgusted. It was good but never, not in a hundred years, not for a million bucks will I do that again! I don’t think I will be sleeping tonight.

  19. I’m not dying!! I dont have to make a very awkward visit to the doctors! So glad I found this website knowing I’m not alone in the blood red poop.

    1. Im glad I’m not alone to.hahaha my poop was blood red also…plus I work at Burger king so I put extra red velvet in mine hahaha I wonder how long this one’s gonna last hahaha

  20. This is serious. I went to the ER after having extremely “bloody stool”. I see I’m not the only only one who was wasting time and money not to mention valuable emergency room space. Outrageous!
