PRIZE DRAWING: Because I Want Some of You To Try Dairy-Free Frozen Treats

IMG_2941

You know how some people say they were into a band before they hit it big? Well, I was into Tofutti before you read about them in this sentence.

It was the 1980s and my parents wanted to stop my intake of ICEEs, so instead they got me soft serve Tofutti in a cone. Being from a Japanese family, we ate tofu regularly…well, my parents ate them, I stared at them with contempt. All I thought tofu could be was white, bland blocks, but Tofutti changed my perception with their tasty, dairy-free soft serve, which came in vanilla or chocolate.

Tofutti has grown since then and now they’ve got more dairy-free frozen treats than you can shake a cow’s tail at. They offer cones, bars, pints, and sandwiches.

The folks at Tofutti sent me a bunch of free product coupons to give away to Impulsive Buy readers. How many? Let’s just say, if I were in a club, I could make it rain Tofutti coupons. With so many coupons there will be 10 winners.

If you’re wondering if Tofutti products are available in your area, use the store locator on the Tofutti website.

  1. These would be perfect for me because my first friend has a dairy allergy so we are always very limited on what we can eat as desserts!

  2. My baby has a cow’s milk protein allergy, and I nurse. I haven’t had any frozen treats in months.

  3. I’m allergic to dairy and most of the things featured on this website are things that I can’t eat. So most of the time I feel left out or feel really happy that there’s no way I could put whatever food I’m reading about in my mouth. BUT I CAN EAT TOFUTTI!

  4. I don’t think I like tofu ice cream. But, I’ve never tried it. So, gimme some coupons and I will.

    Thanks.

  5. These coupons could help me satisfy my ice cream craving without drowning my boyfriend in awful dairy-induced farts!

  6. Hi! I’d like to try this. Thanks! A friend introduced me to this site, and I’m really enjoying it.

  7. As someone who is lactose intolerant and loves ice cream type products, I would love this!

  8. I’m a lactose-intolerant college freshman who copes with stress by eating ice cream! I would love to try dairy-free ice cream so that I won’t feel sick whenever I try and deal with my stress! Also, it would help keep the freshman 15 away…hopefully…

  9. I would really love to try these! I see them every time I shop at Kroger (which is a lot) and I always want to try them but never get a chance to. I’m really into healthy/organic foods, so this would be perfect for me. 🙂 Thanks for the opportunity!

PS if you haven’t already tried it, Amy’s tofu scramble is delicious. It was my first foray with tofu and I was shocked by how good it was!

  10. I eat ice cream every day, literally. But I have a horrible cold right now, and dairy is making me more phlegmy. So I’ve actually been looking for a recommendation for a non-dairy frozen product to tide me over for a few days. So far the coconut milk based ones I’ve tried just aren’t creamy enough. So I’d love to try some Tofutti!

  11. Never had tofutti, but i’m interested in trying them. As everyone else here is, since we all want free stuff.

  12. This stuff seems…interesting. Not something I’d typically eat, but I’ll give it a try if I win.

  13. I finished a box of 8 Tofutti Cutie’s mint chocolate bars last night. Clearly I need more Tofutti bars!

  14. Awesome! My son is 3 and he has a dairy allergy. We’ve tried some coconut milk desserts, but never tofutti. I’d love to give it a shot!

  15. I’ve had the Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese before and it was pretty good, so I would love to try some of their frozen goodies!

  16. While I’ve seen this brand on numerous occasions, I’ve never taken the leap of faith to give them a try. After reading your post, I’m thinking I should take that leap 🙂

  17. HEY The Impulsive Buy! I want some Tofutti because I just spilled my freakin’ soy ground beef all over the floor. True story. And my dog ate it.

  18. I’m intrigued with those new flat taco shells, so I’m hell-bent on making a dessert with them and Tofutti- oh, it’s happening. It’s either that or the chicken helper, but no.

  19. I’m pretty sure I spotted Tofutti brand frozen desserts at my local publix. I’d definitely love to try it.

  20. Tofutti is amazing, especially the Chocolate Cookie Crunch. That I can no longer find in stores…arghh!

  21. oh, i would so love to win some delicious tofutti to satisfy my non-dairy ice cream cravings! i would jam an outrageous amount of tofutti cuties into my maw! yumminess! <3

  22. I cant drink milk, and i have waiting to try milk free ice cream! I saw they have “drumstick” like cones on their website. Aw Yeah

  23. Not sure if I made it in before Hawaii Standard Time, but it’s 7:50pm here so I figure I’ll give it a shot.

  24. I LOVE Tofutti! I am allergic to milk, so when my mom found it for the first time she bought it for me. That was about 10 years ago. I am always looking for it, because – even though there are other similar, dairy-free treats in the market now – it is delicious!

  25. I’d definitely let you know my thoughts on dairy-free frozen treats after trying them for free!

  26. I haven’t tried Tofutti in a while. Coconut milk treats are oh so tasty! I’d like to review these ones and compare.

  27. I’d love me some Tofutti!. And even though I’m not lactose intolerant, I love Tofutti’s brand and I have a lot of friends who are lactose intolerant and would love to be able to share this with all of them. 🙂

  28. Why did soft-serve Tofutti not survive the 80s?? There’s a hole in my heart that can only be filled by Tofutti.

  29. I’ve seen tofutti ice cream at publix and I’ve been tempted to try it but I’m scared. These coupons would really help me overcome my fears.

  30. Since this is “tofu” based, these must be “healthy” foods, right?!? So bring on the treats!

  31. I’m lactose intolerant and have been debating on giving these a shot to replace my dairy endeavors. This would definitely open up a new world to me in the dairy-free realm!

  32. I always see people coming through my line at Whole Foods buying this, and after seeing it I have wanted to try it! And todays my birthday , hint hint 🙂

  33. Huh, I always thought that Tofutti was only fruit flavored (because of the futti part…I realize now that was pretty stupid). I never investigated because I don’t eat tofu and never really has the need to investigate. Chocolate and vanilla, who knew?
