FAST FOOD NEWS: Burger King Honey Hot Chicken Sandwiches and Mozzarella Sticks

Burger King Honey Hot Chicken Sandwiches

Burger King is testing a new chicken sandwich variation – Honey Hot Chicken – that I can’t help but think might be inspired by recent KFC creations. Impulsive Buy reader @buco81 sent in the photo above for the test item that was taken at a Burger King location in Boardman, Ohio.

It appears the sandwich comes topped with bacon, pickles, onions, and a sweet and spicy sauce. It’s available with either a crispy chicken filet, spicy crispy chicken filet, or grilled chicken.

Burger King Mozzarella Sticks

At the same location, there are also Mozzarella Sticks on the menu, available in 4-, 8-, and 20-piece orders with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. A quick Google search shows that BK has offered fried breaded sticks of mozzarella cheese in the past.

If you’ve seen either at a BK location near you or tried it, let us know in the comments.

  1. Mozzarella sticks look similar to the ones Wawa has. Not very gooey, melty or stringy. If so, they’re alright if you’re hungry for a lukewarm cheese snack, but not very good as mozzarella sticks. Ken’s marinara is their dip.

    1. That much for a 20 piece of mozz sticks?

You can get a decent sized package of Farmrich Mozzarella Sticks for $5, at least at the Hannaford here. Cheaper to make your own. Why go to the King?

  2. BK had mozzarella sticks for years, and while I heard that a few years ago most locations got rid of them, the BK near me never got rid of them.

  3. Why would the price per mozzarella stick be (albeit slightly) higher when ordering the 20 piece compared to the 8 piece? Where’s the volume discount, BK?

    1. Not only is the price per stick more, but it’s cheaper to order 2 8-piece and 1 4-piece than 1 20-piece. (2.89 + 2.89 + 1.49 < 7.39)

      1. If you ordered five of the 4-piece mozzarella sticks, that would be slightly more than one 20-piece, so maybe that’s how BK considers the 20-piece to be a better value.

  4. Looking forward to these spicy chicken sandwiches, should they be released nationwide.

  5. When McDonald’s came out with its fried mozzarella sticks earlier, I tried them, and boy, they were small–it was almost as if they were from Barbie’s fun house. I hope that these are bigger . . . .
