Because nothing says tailgate party like fruit punch. I guess some people might have had a problem with a beer flavored one being “marketed” to kids. BBQ might’ve also made more sense than vanilla ice cream, but then it would have been ALL “gross” flavors.
It’s not a party till someone breaks out the Hawaiian Punch, IMHO.
