FAST FOOD NEWS: McDonald’s Mac Trio

McDonald s Mac Trio

Out of the billions of burgers McDonald’s has sold over the years, many of them have been the classic Big Mac. And almost 30,000 of those Big Macs have been sold to Don Gorske. But all these years he’s never had to decide which Big Mac he should eat because there was just one.

But with McDonald’s new Mac Trio, he now has options. Along with the original Big Mac, the fast food chain is also offering for a limited time the Grand Mac and Mac Jr.

The Grand Mac features 1/3 lb of 100 percent real beef in two patties, two slices of American cheese, lettuce, onions, pickles, and special sauce on a larger sesame seed bun. The Mac Jr has just one of those beef patties that’s in the Grand Mac, a slice of American cheese, lettuce, onions, pickles, and special sauce on the same sesame seed bun as the Big Mac.

The Mac Jr has 460 calories, 27 grams of fat, 9 grams of saturated fat, 1 gram of trans fat, 70 milligrams of cholesterol, 830 milligrams of sodium, 36 grams of carbohydrates, 7 grams of sugar, 3 grams of fiber, and 21 grams of protein.

The Grand Mac has 860 calories, 52 grams of fat, 18 grams of saturated fat, 2 grams of trans fat, 140 milligrams of cholesterol, 1470 milligrams of sodium, 62 grams of carbohydrates, 13 grams of sugar, 5 grams of fiber, 41 grams of protein.

And to compare, here are the nutrition facts for the original Big Mac has 540 calories, 28 grams of fat, 10 grams of saturated fat, 1 gram of trans fat, 80 milligrams of cholesterol, 950 milligrams of sodium, 46 grams of carbohydrates, 9 grams of sugar, 3 grams of fiber, and 25 grams of protein.

If you’ve tried the bigger Mac or smaller Mac, let us know what you think of it in the comments.

COMING SOON: Keebler Limited Batch Lemon Cream Pie Fudge Stripes Cookies

Keebler Limited Batch Lemon Cream Pie Fudge Stripes Cookies

So far this year, we’ve seen on shelves Cinnamon Roll Fudge Stripes. But later this year, possibly in the spring, Keebler will roll out a lemon cream pie version of their popular shortbread cookie.

While Keebler doesn’t put out the annual 6 to 423 flavors Oreo does, the elves have surprised us with one or two limited edition Fudge Stripes flavors every year for the past few years. In 2014, it was Red Velvet. In 2015, the elves brought us Cookies & Creme and Pumpkin Spice. Last year, we tasted Birthday Cake and Peppermint.
