NEWS: Subway Testing Creamy Sriracha Sauce

Sriracha HOT Chili Sauce

Subway, the fast food place micromanagers probably love, is testing a creamy sriracha sauce at select locations. The spicy sauce was spotted by the folks over at Foodbeast.

Currently, Subway’s spiciest sauce is probably their Chipotle Southwest Sauce, which I don’t think is at all spicy. Last summer, the sandwich chain tested a wasabi sauce, but it has yet to show up nationwide.

Brand Eating posted a review of the new sauce:

The sauce is a bright, almost neon orange; it almost makes you think you should take a Geiger counter to it. I figured I might as well just taste it by itself and dabbed some on my finger. I got some sweet tanginess paired with creaminess before the heat hit me. Wow! This is some seriously spicy stuff!

I hope this rolls out nationwide. But if not, I guess I could take the bottle of sriracha in my fridge and splooge some of it on my next Subway sandwich.

NEWS: Jack in the Box’s Munchie Meals Make You Wonder What Jack Is Smoking

IMG_5014

I avoid eating fast food late at night because for some reason the grease and salt makes me have nightmare. No, really, it does. So I’m not looking forward to trying Jack’s Munchie Meals.

According to Brand Eating, Jack’s Munchie Meals are available after 9 p.m., which sucks for me and 4:20-ers.

For six dollars, a Jack’s Munchie Meal includes two tacos, a drink, an order of Halfsies — half curly, half regular fries — and one of the following entrees:

Brunch Burger – A croissant bun topped with a beef patty, fried egg, hash browns bacon, and cheese.

Exploding Cheesy Chicken Sandwich – A chicken sandwich topped with mozzarella cheese sticks and a white cheese sauce.

Stacked Grilled Cheese Burger – A sourdough grilled cheese sandwich on top of a burger.

Loaded Nuggets – Chicken nuggets topped with two kinds of cheese, ranch dressing, and bacon.

If you don’t feel like eating your recommended daily allowance of sodium, fat, and calories in one meal, you can order one of the entrees without the added sodium, fat, and calories from the tacos and Halfsies.

Jack’s Munchie Meals are currently being tested at limited locations. If you’ve tried any of the entrees, let us know what you think of them in the comments.

NEWS: Pizza Hut’s New Overstuffed Pizza Would’ve Been Awesome At Promoting 1996’s ‘Independence Day’

2012-11-13 19.44.52-1

Pizza Hut’s new Overstuffed Pizza looks like The Hut stuck two P’Zones together, but it also looks like the alien ship in the film Independence Day. Each Overstuffed Pizza contains toppings, sauce, and cheese between two crusts, and provides six slices. The latest from Pizza Hut comes in two varieties — Italian Meat Trio and Supremo.

To be honest, I’m extremely disappointed this is the latest and greatest from Pizza Hut here in the US. While Canada got the frickin’ Pizza Hut Hot Dog Stuffed Pizza, which was originally introduced in the UK, we got what is basically a pizza on top of another pizza.

Nutrition information for the Overstuffed Pizza is not available on the Pizza Hut website yet, but I bet with those two layers of crust it has a lot of carbs.

If you tried Pizza Hut’s Overstuffed Pizza, let us know what you think of it in the comments.

NEWS: Add Some Holiday Cheer To Your Burger King Meal With BK’s Gingerbread Cookie Sundae and Shake

cookies

This week, Burger King introduced two limited time only holiday desserts — the Gingerbread Cookie Sundae and Gingerbread Cookie Shake.

The Gingerbread Cookie Sundae features vanilla soft serve, topped with a gingerbread sauce and crumbled gingersnap cookies. It has a suggested retail price of $2.49. The hand-blended Gingerbread Cookie Shake is made up of vanilla soft serve and gingerbread syrup blended together with whipped topping and crumbled gingersnap cookies on top. It has a suggested retail price of $1.99.

Personally, I would’ve liked to have seen the Gingerbread Cookie Sundae feature a gingerbread man cookie dunked into the soft serve feet first to make him look like he’s lounging in the sundae.

That’s would’ve been extremely adorable.

NEWS: Pizza Hut Middle East Proves Once Again It’s More Awesome Than Pizza Hut USA With Kit Kat Pops and Stuffed Cone Crust Pizza

Hey, Pizza Hut USA, I really enjoyed your Garlic Bread Pizza, but what have you done lately?

Nothing.

But your Middle Eastern counterpart has recently come up with some crazy shit. How crazy? How about a pizza with cones as the edge crust, each of which is stuffed with either cream cheese, honey mustard chicken, or chicken & cream cheese. They’ve also have Kit Kats wrapped in pizza dough. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if next month they introduced a pizza with Kit Kat stuffed crust.

Come on, Pizza Hut USA! Grow some culinary balls!
