FAST FOOD NEWS: Arby’s 5 Mega Meat Stack and Cajun Fish Sandwich

Arby's 5 Mega Meat Stack

Arby’s has two new sandwiches.

One is the culinary white flag you’ll wave when you say screw it to your New Year’s resolution to eat healthy. The other is a fish sandwich.

Arby’s new 5 Mega Meat Stack is more like a molehill when one compares it with the chain’s Meat Mountain. The five meats in the stack are: pepper bacon, a buttermilk chicken fillet, pit smoked ham, roast beef, and roast turkey. It also comes with cheddar cheese, shredded iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise, and a star-cut bun.

The stack of meat, cheese, and bread has 900 calories, 47 grams of fat, 15 grams of saturated fat, 1 gram of trans fat, 175 milligrams of cholesterol, 3160 milligrams of sodium, 53 grams of carbohydrates, 4 grams of fiber, 11 grams of sugar, and 65 grams of protein.

Arby's Cajun Fish

Arby’s Cajun Fish Sandwich comes with only one type of meat — a crispy, fried Alaskan Pollock filet. It also comes with shredded lettuce and a zesty Cajun remoulade on a sesame seed bun. The sandwich takes the places of last year’s Nashville Hot Fish Sandwich.

The menu item has 590 calories, 29 grams of fat, 4.5 grams of saturated fat, 0 gram of trans fat, 45 milligrams of cholesterol, 1060 milligrams of sodium, 63 grams of carbohydrates, 3 grams of fiber, 7 grams of sugar, and 20 grams of protein.

Both sandwiches are available for a limited time at participating locations.

Here’s one last bit of Arby’s news.

The chain has also brought back its Oreo Bites that made their debut last year. Click here for our review.

FAST FOOD NEWS: Jack in the Box Pannidos (2018)

Jack in the Box Pannidos

Update: We reviewed it! Click here to read our review.

Jack in the Box’s Pannidos are back!

You don’t remember the Pannidos? Well, you’re not alone because I don’t remember them either. But, here’s a brief history lesson, thanks to Google and Jack in the Box, who don’t delete web assets from its website.

The original version was introduced on February 23, 2004 and there were three varieties served with foot-long, toasted ciabatta baguettes — Zesty Turkey, Ham and Turkey, and the Deli Trio.

In 2018, there are only two — Turkey, Bacon & Cheddar and the Deli Trio.

The Turkey, Bacon & Cheddar comes with smoked turkey, bacon, cheddar cheese, and a creamy Italian sauce on toasted ciabatta bread. Its nutrition facts aren’t up on the website at time of publication. But we’ll update this post when it does.

The Deli Trio features smoked turkey, ham, salami, dill pickle slices, and a creamy Italian sauce on toasted ciabatta bread. It has 580 calories, 30 grams of fat, 7 grams of saturated fat, 0 gram of trans fat, 75 milligrams of cholesterol, 2550 milligrams of sodium, 47 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of fiber, 6 grams of sugar, and 31 grams of protein.

If you’ve tried them or remember the 2004 version, let us know in the comments.

FAST FOOD NEWS: Burger King Cheesy Bacon Crispy Chicken Sandwich

BKCBCC

Update: We reviewed it! Click here to read our review.

After reading about the Burger King Whoppers being sold in Green Bay, Wisconsin that have eight slices of American cheese, I’m a little disappointed by the cheesiness of the chain’s new Cheesy Bacon Crispy Chicken Sandwich.

The sandwich comes with a 100 percent white meat seasoned crispy chicken filet, bacon, American cheese, and layers of cheese sauce on a toasted potato bun. That’s a lot of dairy, but it’s no eight slices of it.

The cheesy sandwich has 650 calories, 32 grams of fat, 10 grams of saturated fat, 0.5 gram of trans fat, 90 milligrams of cholesterol, 1980 milligrams of sodium, 59 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of fiber, 8 grams of sugar, and 31 grams of protein.
