NEWS: Enjoy Root Beer Floats Without a Straw, Spoon, or Sugar By Chewing Extra Dessert Delights Root Beer Float Gum

Update: Click here to read our Extra Dessert Delights Root Beer Float Gum review

I wonder if the upcoming Extra Dessert Delights Root Beer Float Gum will foam in my mouth like when vanilla ice cream and root beer come together in a glass. Most likely that’s not the case, but that would make the gum a bit more authentic…and probably rabies pranks will rise.

Extra Dessert Delights Root Beer Float will be the latest gum flavor in the sugar-free dessert flavored gum lineup, which also includes Mint Chocolate Chip, Key Lime Pie, Strawberry Shortcake, Orange Creme Pop, and Apple Pie.

Yes, I know the lineup by heart.

The root beer flavored gum won’t be available until the summer of 2012 because it just recently earned the right to be made by winning Extra Dessert Delights Fan Flavorite Vote on Facebook. Root beer float garnered 662,817 votes, crushing the other two choices, lemon square and bananas foster, which received 363,389 and 360,731 votes, respectively.

So get ready for another dessert-flavored chewing gum that’s significantly less satisfying than the real thing.

NEWS: Stacy’s Pita Chips Simply Cocoa and Simply Gingerbread Sound Simply Seasonal

Nf11 9 7

I remember when pita chips first became popular. It was marketed as a healthier alternative to potato chips and I ate a lot of them at first. However, I have to admit since then I’ve eaten way more potato chips than pita chips. But, I do like them for their flavor, hearty crunch, and the way shoppers in Whole Foods nod at me with approval when they see it in my smaller than normal green shopping cart.

Although it’s been awhile since I’ve had pita chips, it looks like Stacy’s Pita Chips might get me to eat more with their limited edition Simply Cocoa and Simply Gingerbread flavors.

According to Stacy’s Pita Chips Facebook page, Simply Gingerbread is flavored using a blend of brown sugar, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. As for Simply Cocoa, there isn’t much information about it. Like all Stacy’s Pita Chips, both flavors are all-natural and have no trans fat.

An ounce serving of Simply Gingerbread has 140 calories, 45 calories from fat, 5 grams of fat, 0.5 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 0.5 grams of polyunsaturated fat, 4 grams of monounsaturated fat, 0 milligrams of cholesterol, 90 milligrams of sodium, 19 grams of carbohydrates, less than 1 gram of fiber, 6 grams of sugar, and 2 grams of protein.

NEWS: California Pizza Kitchen Lets Their Facebook Fans Choose The Next Limited Edition Frozen Pizza Flavor

Want to choose the next California Pizza Kitchen Limited Edition Frozen Pizza flavor?

Well, it’s easy…unless you don’t have a Facebook account. If you don’t, you can’t vote and people will continue to say to you, “You’re not on Facebook?” But if you’re on Facebook, all you have to do is “Like” CPK on Facebook and vote using their Vote for Next Frozen Flavor Facebook app.

All this voting of flavors reminds me of Mountain Dew’s DEWmocracy. Hmm…DEWmocracy has me thinking this frozen pizza flavor election should’ve been called DemocraCPK.

I’m sorry for that verbal atrocity.

There are three flavors to choose from, all on a crispy, thin crust:

Spinach & Roasted Mushroom – A pizza topped with spinach, roasted mushrooms garlic, and four cheese with a garlic creme fraiche sauce.

Chipotle Roasted Vegetable – A pizza covered with roasted red and yellow peppers, poblano peppers, roasted corn, black beans, and four cheeses with a chipotle lime sauce.

Greek Recipe – A pizza with spinach, tomatoes, artichokes, kalamata olives, red onions, garlic, and four cheese with a tzatziki sauce.

I didn’t vote for any of them because I feel my vote won’t make a difference, and because there was no place for me to put down a write-in vote for CPK’s extremely spicy Habanero Carnitas pizza.

I will vote for any pizza that makes me cry tears of pain.
