NEWS: Taco Bell Offers Two New Platters for the Big Game…Oh Wait

Today, Taco Bell introduced their new Beef Soft Tacos Supreme Platter and Spicy Chicken Enchilada Platter. Along with the main entrees, each platter also holds seasoned rice, refried beans, tortilla chips and tangy chunky salsa.

When I look at these platters and the food they provide, I wonder if they were meant for two people and if it would be all right if I called the enchilada one, “The Phallic Platter,” and the taco one, “The Yonic Platter,” because I’m a 33-year-old man with the mind of a 12-year-old boy, who just happens to know what “yonic” means.

The Beef Soft Tacos Supreme Platters has 1040 calories, 48 grams of fat, 16 grams of saturated fat, 1.5 grams of trans fat, 2810 milligrams of sodium, 17 grams of dietary fiber, and 36 grams of protein. While the Spicy Chicken Enchilada Platter has 1030 calories, 44 grams of fat, 14 grams of saturated fat, 1.5 grams of trans fat, 3330 milligrams of sodium, 15 grams of dietary fiber, and 41 grams of protein.

I don’t understand how those can have 15 grams of fiber. Sign me up! Oh wait, 3330 mg of sodium? Never mind.

I don’t know what yonic means, but I can make a good guess because I possess the same 12-year-old mind.

Oh, great, now I have to look up “yonic”.

These have to be for two people given the volume of food, though I guess it’d be difficult to have two eat off of one platter. Maybe you’re supposed to buy them for super bowl gatherings and have multiple people eat from them? OK, probably not.

Interesting question raised about the portion…to me, this doesn’t look like anything different from what someone (singular) would be served at any sit-down Mexican restaurant, anywhere. Salsa & chips before the meal, and then 2 (tortilla+meat/beans+cheese ensemble) with beans & rice. Though I guess sometimes people can restrain themselves and ask for a doggie bag…

  4. Chuck says:

Wow…you really DO have a degree in English! I had to look up yonic also. Cool word.

I’ve started going to Taco Cabana instead of Taco Bell because I find their food to be a lot better, for about the same price.

Hey Sam — maybe it’s all the beans?

Unless my late mother made them, enchiladas are not very big. Review them when you can. I’d love me some quick tasty enchiladas.

@Sam – Refried beans have the power of fiber, but they also can come with the power of fat.

@Orchid64 – Consider this your Word of the Day. Don’t forget, to ensure you remember the word, use it in a sentence in a public conversation.

@Sarah – You are right. I also think one person could probably eat the whole thing, but I will probably be one of those people who won’t try to eat the whole thing.

@Chuck – Use the word, but use it wisely.

@elswinger – I don’t know if I will be reviewing these because I promised myself that I wouldn’t eat anything that had more than 2500 mg of sodium.

  8. Jesse says:

Taco Bell SUCKS!!! The only thing its good for is if you havent shit for a couple of days. Two tacos will clean ya out within a hour of eating them.

  9. jang says:

    cost?
    looks yonically delicious

  10. Marvo says:

@Jesse – Whoa. Hold on there partner. I’m pretty sure there are stoners out there who would disagree with you.

@jang – I’m not sure what the price is. Sorry. But I’m guessing somewhere in the $6-$7 range.

  11. Katie says:

They’re $4.99 In NC, that’s $5.23 with tax. And I’m eating the enchilada’s right now. Mmmmmmm.

I had no prob. Eating it all plus a apple Carmel pie . I do feel as though I gained about 10 pounds …… But I am sure that feeling will go away as soon as the bloat does from all the salt and I am not even fat but I am pregnant LOL

I wish I had read this before I bought it. That is way too many calories and sodium. I guess my dinner will be fruits. I just had it and it was yummy so if you don’t mind that staggering nutrition info enjoy!!
