FAST FOOD NEWS: Arby’s The Italian Meatball

Arby's The Italian Meatball

About this time last year, Arby’s gave us the Loaded Italian, a sandwich with a list of ingredients so long that I won’t list them here. This year, Arby’s is introducing a new Italian sandwich — The Italian Meatball.

The sandwich appears to feature meatballs topped with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese on a toasted Italian roll. According to AdAge, the sandwich will be available at Arby’s locations until August.

This isn’t the first Italian meatball sandwich Arby’s has offered. A quick Google search led to the Meatball Toasted Sub, a menu item offered several years ago.

If you’ve tried it, let us know what you think of it in the comments.

  1. Compared to the meatball sub from Subway, the price and nutrition doesn’t come close. I’ll pass on this one!

  2. Had it today. Not good. Grayish meatballs, too much sauce slathered on after the fact, meatballs didn’t marinate very well. Sauce is too acidic and wrong. Messy. Based on the photo, I was expecting something more like what Firehouse Subs has, but it was actually worse than Subway’s offering.

  3. Just tried the Arby’s meatball sub tonight, and was NOT impressed! Subway’s meatball sub is by far superior in taste & quality! Wanted to try Arby’s version this one time, and there will NOT be a second time! Some of their sandwiches are okay, but they should just take this one (Italian Meatball Sub) OFF their menu, in my opinion, and obviously others share my opinion on this!
